Deceased/Not Found FL - Lacey Buenfil, 25, Altoona, 27 Dec 2011

I don't talk to many folks around here and never about that. It is strangely quiet about her disappearance. Wierd.

We don't post rumor here on WS, but there sure is a lot of interesting stuff being said on her facebook page about this guy. I don't think he intentionally killed her. Maybe he tried to rape her and she fought back and he killed her in the struggle. Drugs can make people crazy, you never know... maybe she ran away from him and got lost in the woods.... until he talks, we probably won't ever know the truth.

I guess anything is possible. She was such a little thing.

This entire area of the forest is considered Scrub. This refers to the type of plant growth being lower than tall trees which would be Forest. The Big Scrub area is the subdivision east and north of 42 and east of 182nd Ave. Big Trees subdivision if west of 182nd Ave and north of 42. Both are in Marion County. I hope this helps clear it up. Terry lives at the west end of Big Trees by the Ocklawaha River.

I'm confussed about the counties. It's been reported in the media that Lacey was last seen (or known to have been headed towards) Railroad Grade Road in Lake County. Is that right?

Thank you for answering questions! :seeya:

Yes but we are very close to the county line. Umatilla adresses are in both Lake and Marion counties.

Wow, I can't believe that they haven't found her yet. I wonder if there's a reward for information. Maybe someone in Big Tree knows where she is and could use the cash.

This article says that the dogs tracked her to Rt 19. I didn't read that anywhere else.....

"Lacey Buenfil, 25, from Marion County Florida has not been seen since December 27, 2011, when she was seen in a surveillance video at a Lake County convenience store near County Road 42 and State Road 19 with Terry McDowell.

Terry, who deputies say is known to be a meth user and are calling a person of interest, said he left the store with Lacey and went to the Ocala National Forest to do drugs. When his truck got stuck in the sand, Lacey went on foot to get help. He said he never saw her again.

Dogs tracked Lacey's scent from the woods back to State Road 19.

Cyndee Fox, Lacey's mother said she told Lacey's children this week that their mother was missing.

Authorities and volunteers have searched the forest and lakes and have found no trace of Lacey. The Texas Equusearch will begin searching this weekend.

A volunteer search will be on Saturday at Nelson's Fish Camp. More information at "Praying for Lacey" Facebook page."

As for the tracking dogs, I wouldn't hold much faith in that. Terry was a hunter and knew this area. He would know how to set a false trail and yes I believe someone knows exactly where she is but isn't telling. I hope they rot with guilt.

“If Lacey happened to overdose and they've just unlawfully disposed of her body, we've been told that's just a misdemeanor,” said Buenfil’s mother-in-law Cyndee Fox. “We've been passing that word to where people would come forward if they knew something, because it's just a misdemeanor charge. We need to find her. We need to let the kids know. We need to let the family know. We need closure. This has been a long, long grueling 60 days.”
