So I just dove into this case earlier this weekend. I haven't read everything, but I've read a lot. I looked at all the photos and exhibits over at the blue eyes facebook page. I have a lot of random thoughts about what I've read and seen...all swirling around in my head right now.
Let me preface my post a bit by sharing my story--my own baby son was killed by his bio dad many years ago when I was just a young mom. I truly understand and appreciate the horror and disbelief and bargaining and denial and all the other coping mechanisms that come into play in these situations. I'm not coming at this from an...uneducated standpoint. And I certainly wasn't an ideal example of what to do, either. I said some weird things in my initial shock and fear--there's no way to accurately describe that horrifying helplessness one feels when trying to wrap their head around such a cruel act having been perpetrated on their child.
I also understand the lengths people will go to to get their drug of choice or a reasonable facsimile thereof. People who off drugs are kind and thoughtful won't think twice about stealing their own mom's wedding ring for a bump. Not excusable by any means. Stopping in the middle of the night to get "$20 someone owes" is totally normal in that world--I mean, I suppose one might stop to get $20 if they knew that other person was going to be up and it wasn't about drugs--that's possible, but it's highly probable, to me, that the $20 was drug related and possible some sort of deflection/stalling technique? IDK.
Sorry this is so scattered...
Oh, I was a little surprised their apartment wasn't more trashed...thought the full vacuum shoved in the closet was a bit weird and for some reason stood out to me, but I expected the apartment to be messier for some reason.
In those first interrogation videos from the first night, I thought it was weird that they let RE have his vape pen in the interrogation room. Also takes some cajones to use it in the cop shop, IMO. Of course, if it were me, I'd be too scared to even ask to pee, let alone have the sand to take a puff. I mean, I'm ASSUMING it wasn't shatter he was vaping, but tobacco stuff, but still. He looked like he just wanted out to go get a bump of coke or whatever...didn't I read he'd flushed it before calling the cops? Bet he regretted that most of anything he did that night only because he wishes he'd had time to do it instead of committing "drug abuse" by flushing it.
I'm planning to watch the rest of the interrogation tapes, but didn't want to interrupt Mr. flourish's football just yet as the Bronco's weren't making him happy as it was lol.
But from what I've read here and in the docs, here's my theory, such as it is...also it agrees with many of you, so it's nothing new:
RE hurt Lonzie by either shaking/striking/throwing him causing an internal head injury, but not such severe an injury as to cause immediate death or unconsciousness, but causing his brain to bleed and continue to damage his little body in the hours after the injury. That incident resulted in the lethargy, vomiting, and ear drainage, as well as the bruise, which I'm guessing was not actually a skull fracture per se, but like a dentation kind of injury...idk, when I was little I fell and since I was so young, my arm bone bent vs broke, so I guess I'm thinking of that. Anyway, little guy suffers, mom notices, confronts RE, but doesn't push it as he's Mr. Manipulative Flip-Talker-Deflector and she wants to go to work and doesn't want to deal with missing work or not going in for extra hours or whatever it was and certainly doesn't want to deal with securing care for her children, so she lets it go, possibly against her deep down better judgement, which she'll hate herself for forever and she should, and goes to work.
I'm not really sure what i think happened next. Some ideas involve:
- RE leaving Lonzie in the bathtub alone, lehtargic and possibly medicated, while texting deals or whatever and Lonzie drown, possibly even injuring himself further in the process (hitting head on faucet or fixture) and RE panics and goes into cover up mode
- Lonzie chewed on a drug baggie, stuck his hand in some loose coke, or otherwise inadvertadely got into the coke and died as a result. RE found him and freaked and went into cover up mode...
- RE, allegedly having told LB he didn't want to care for her children anymore, and having already (possibly) hurt Lonzie, shook/struck/threw him again, in frustration and anger but not actual intent to kill, and this time resulting in an immediate or quick death, and RE went into cover up mode
- I suppose maybe Lonzie fell down the stairs or some other accident happened that was an actual accident, not a "drug accident" and RE covered up but I doubt it
- RE deliberately, with intent, murdered Lonzie then went into cover up mode
As much as a supreme DB this RE seems like, I'm just not yet convinced that he deliberately and with intent harmed this child. I think he did harm this child, but from negligence or abuse resulting in death, but not cold-blooded "I'm going to kill this baby tonight."
I've even speculated that RE had injured him prior, then tried to stage an accidental injury to "cover up for and explain" the original injury...like, realizing the obvious injury was getting worse, he (or they--I haven't ruled LB out) set up a staged accident intending to seek help for that and it went horribly awry. That's probably just crazy though.
I don't know why he would think he could get away with the car story. That's just stupid...carjackers who find out they've inadvertently snatched a kid don't ditch the car and the car seat and keep the kid. And abductors don't hover around random apartment complexes waiting for someone to leave the car running with a kid inside so they can navigate the complex speed bumps stealing both the car and the kid...if they wanted only a kid they'd probably just take the child in their own vehicle. It just defies logic and precedent.
Judgmental and snarky alert: She's a stripper? So...when she went into work, she's wearing the jean cutoffs/bra with a tube top outfit (Klassy with a capital K), with flat hair and I couldn't tell makeup. At the police station, she's wearing the same outfit with flat hair and sans makeup. Did she do her hair and makeup and change in the club then change again (which I get) but then take her makeup off AND brush her hair out so it's lanky and flat again or does she strip with lanky flat hair? I guess I figured after work strippers changed at the club but then went home to shower and get makeup off and hair washed out or whatever. I know I'd be wanting a shower to get all the leering and ogling feelings off, let alone my makeup and lashes and whatnot. Totally shallow and odd to be thinking about, but I guess I'm just in awe of what men will pay to see naked sometimes. There's a lot to be said for lighting and makeup I suppose. Maybe I did miss out on a good way to have avoided all these student loans LOL. I never thought I was pretty enough even at a younger age, but she makes me reconsider. LOL JK
I'd originally wondered if a third party was involved, who really did "steal" (staged) the car and dump the body for RE, but then after seeing the video of him running back after obviously ditching just the car, not so much.
What else to add to my ever-rambling post...Oh, so the relationship between CB and LB seems to be one based on doing drugs together rather than based on actual love. I used to think my then boyfriend now husband was just a great at co-parenting with his ex, but they were actually better at co-drugging under the guise of co-parenting. (All in the past now no worries).
Oh...I haven't written off the idea that Lonzie perished from the head injury prior to LB going to work, and that she went to work anyway to "appear normal" for their stupid carjacking plan, or even that she left and just told RE to take care of it so that she really didn't know what happened. IDK. I trust her about as far as i can spit her.
And this paternity stuff has me curious too...more gossipy curious, admittedly, but curious nonetheless.
And this new pregnancy...please take it away as soon as possible and give it to someone completely unrelated to all of these folks.
I know I had more to say (really flourish? more?) but that's it for now before my computer freezes again
