I remember it being bloodwork. Not sure for what. An annual perhaps?

I agree but if my memory is correct, she also had some kind of cosmetic procedure like botox or something scheduled, too, but canceled it at last minute for financial reasons. Only my memory.

Added: now wondering if there was another reason she cancelled a discretionary appointment.

Curious, for those with legal expertise, what would be the reason(s) the judge might reject the plea?

The whole reason we have trials is because the accused plead not guilty. If they plead guilty, we can go straight to sentencing. It's generally a relief when the plead guilty, often they wait right up until the trial looms.

As we know, DP cases wind up in appeals, sometimes for decades.

So even a guilty plea in exchange for no DP, is still a solid plea. He'll get his. LWOP plus years IMO.

Juries can be unpredictable. A guilty plea in hand beats a potential guilty verdict.

I think a judge would reject a guilty plea if it was open to appeal. Technical reasons. It would need to be spelled out, to withstand the standard appeals. Otherwise it potentially circumvents justice, is a delay strategy and should require trying the case all over again. MOO

If SS does plead guilty today, it will draw a circle around thousands and thousands of images which no jury will have to view, and SS can be fast-tracked into oblivion. We can forget his name.

I have no legal expertise, nor am I even in America, but was thinking it depends what the plea is. I can’t see a guilty plea itself being rejected but if he has done a deal on what sentence would ensue I can see a judge might reject that if it is too lenient. Also might he have decided to enter an Alford plea and the judge won’t accept anything less than a Guilty plea?
