NARRATIVE: A Florida MISSING CHILD Alert has been issued for Madeline Soto, last seen in the area of the 13500th block of Town Loop Boulevard in Orlando, Florida, who was last seen wearing a green jacket, black shorts, and white Crocs. Madeline has a mole on the left side of her nose and the right side of her chin.

Madeline ‘Maddie’ Soto was last seen on Monday, one day after she and her family celebrated her 13th birthday. Maddie’s mother, Jenn Soto, said surveillance video shows Maddie hanging out in a church parking lot on February 26 after being dropped off for school, but she never made it inside.

Jenn Soto said sheriff’s deputies are using K9s and a piece of Maddie’s clothing to try to track her scent near Town Loop Boulevard.

(Her mother says that she forgot to take her phone that morning, but that isn't unusual.)

Bringing this post over.

The interview with the parents is heartbreaking and upsetting. On one hand, they seem to accept SS's culpability in the crime. But they are so willing to almost...excuse him?...by questioning Jen's behavior, the roommates, etc. I can't help but feel that they were ill-advised in going to the media.

Well now that you've burned the retinas of my eyes with that photo at the beginning of the second video of SS with no shirt on GAAAAAAAAAH, it took a moment to see again, lol. <love the Santa Woodstock>

I agree, I think SS has been an emotional and financial burden on them for a long time, probably his entire life. I think they are relieved that he is no longer living with them (certainly not under these conditions) and they understand that he is guilty, but still need to make excuses too, which they probably have done his whole life. Maybe Codependency?

Regardless, they are facing the fact that SS might be sentenced to the DP and I do feel for them, they are victims of SS too. I cannot imagine their having to face that prospect. I wonder if they have a personal attorney who is advising them?

MOO

Amen. Too bad we don’t have a gag or vomit emoji. We certainly need it for that image of SS (most revolting, wish I had never seen it — TMI :p) and a bunch of other stuff in this case o_O OMO.

is youtube an approved source? because i found the actual interview of SS parents

I don't think YouTube as a whole is approved, but some certain "YouTubers" in particular have earned WS approval. So it would depend on who is presenting the material, I believe. Whose channel do you see it on?
Hidden True Crime. but i see the video was already posted by Vaderman. I didn't watch it when it was posted because i knew i didn't see it on that channel. but it turns out that is the original interview where it was said. i'm going to post about it. i'm watching it now to get a timestamp for the relevant part

"She Was Cold" [video link at timestamp]

so i found the video i was looking for. this is from Grizzly True Crime. she shows a clip from Hidden True Crime where SS moms says that SS told them he "put Maddie to bed and went for a walk to blow off some steam" and "when he came back she was cold."
to me this is kinda huge.
even tho we know she was strangled, this means that SS had some convo with his parents about the night Maddie died and what happened. i think the only time he could have had this convo would have been when his dad came to pay for their hotel. i doubt he would have said anything like that over the phone.
bcuz he had already dumped Maddie's body, he may have been trying to direct a narrative in hopes Maddie wouldn't be found in time for an autopsy to show the actual CoD. i think he was hoping she would be too decomposed from the elements for that.
this would also mean that CS possibly withheld info from LE since we haven't yet heard anything about him telling the police about this convo. maybe we'll hear it later, but i think if they had told LE about this they would have mentioned it in one of their interviews or LE would have mentioned it somewhere in the tons of docs and videos we've seen so far.
IMHO there's a lot to unpack about this. i have so many questions...

This seems huge!

Good sleuthing to dig it up and post it for us!

Hi @Stormi76,
Thanks!
*First*, Maddie was 13, like she needed to be put to bed - he's evil, vile, putrid scum:mad:
*Second*, every time I've heard this information I've thought: must have been a bloody long walk, not being au fait with how long it takes a human body to go from normal living temperature to cold to the touch as a result of death - I asked uncle Google:
qte
It takes around 12 hours for a human body to be cool to the touch and 24 hours to cool to the core. Rigor mortis commences after three hours and lasts until 36 hours after death.
endqte
That put's Maddie's EOL before midnight, well before....
Actually makes no difference, the outcome is the same & the so-called-adults in this devastating, gut-churning tragedy are all liars so the truth is unlikely to ever be known; the forensic truth will be as close as it gets for Maddie's voice to be heard (imo)

#Justice for Maddie; rest well dear child, absolutely gutted that you were failed left-right & centre.

Wow, this is huge IMO. I wondered early on if SS didn't kill Madeline the night before. The first statements from LE said she was observed leaving the community with SS on video in an 'unnatural' (paraphrasing) position. I was curious as to how LE could tell that she was deceased at that time.

It could be possible that SS placed Madeline in the vehicle soon after he killed her because a body would have been extremely hard to maneuver by himself if he had waited until the morning. It could also explain why none of the roommates saw anything that morning. Nobody saw Madeline after she came home from her party and went upstairs with SS to sleep so bio Mom could get her 'rest'.

This is beyond horrible and sad. This young girl seems to have had nobody to turn to about what had been going on for years. :(

i think he killed her around 1:30 - 2:30 am because the one roommate said she heard noise from that bedroom around 2-2:30 am. i don't think he put her in the car then tho. what if somebody had seen her "sitting" in the car alone early in the morning when people were going to work and school? especially the roommates. i would guess they all parked their cars as close to the apt entrance as possible. they would have noticed Maddie "sitting" in the car alone that early.
i think he moved her body closer to 7:00 - 8:00 am. remember the roommate said he was up and down the stairs and doing laundry (which he apparently never did.) He probably took her to the car just after the last roommate left for the day.
when he went in JS room to (supposedly) leash the dog, i think he might have been looking for the other white croc and just used leashing the dog as an on-the-spot excuse when he accidentally woke JS in his search.

(excuse my ignorance. I've been trying to follow along when I can. Why did he need to "blow off steam"? Had he and Jen had a fight?

Hi @LaborDayRN,
(you) are not ignorant at all, it's not easy keeping up with Maddie's case, aside from the vicarious trauma, trying to find the truth in a cesspool of lies is a challenge.
In this video (posted originally by @Stormi76), Did Stephan Sterns Drug Madeline Soto? Jenn Soto "Got Him to Admit" He Double Dosed Her? @ 29:44 onwards, SS's parents (Debra (DS) & Chris Sterns (CS)) are speaking with Dr. John Matthias, a criminal psychologist & Lauren Matthias about *Maddie* & SS, the conversation is:

DS: "he did tell us that he put her you know she went to bed and when he went out to walk around and blow off some steam, he came back and to check on her and she was cold, he said he discovered her okay okay so" || CS: "don't know if that's a truth" ||
DS: "yeah don't that's the truth, don't know if anything's a truth but..." || LM: ".. it's what he told you" || CS: "yeah, yeah it's just um lips are moving don't know if it's truth".

#Justice will come Maddie - it will take time, but it will come.
MOO.

Very true, unless he laid Maddie down across the seat? I think I'm just stuck on how LE thought immediately that she was deceased and looked to be in an unnatural position on video while exiting the main gate.

I thought one of the more recent media dumps told us that she was slumped over, but her eyes were open and fixed, and that's how they knew she was dead. Am I misremembering this? Does anyone else remember this? JMO

No ignorance there @LaborDayRN this case has been an emotional rollercoaster with a lot of moving parts and people. I think SS could have had an argument with JS, which helped in her decision to send Madeline and him upstairs so she could get some rest.

I want to throw up every time I type that last sentence. Poor Maddie

How horrible, they must have a good surveillance camera at the gate to see that her eyes were open and fixed in such a short amount of time to exit.
