Had a thought: if he had all his CSA images in the cloud, are they still there?

Will he be able to access them if the prison assigns him a tablet? Or do they not get to keep their gmail or yahoo accounts (and have an inmate email something like [email protected])?
I cannot imagine they have access to outside email addresses

@Gemmie, this is good point about choosing Dad.

Remember Mom & Dad saying on some of the podcasts that SS got a call from Maddie the weekend she died and it seemed he was really disturbed about something she said.

Only what I’m remembering. I know Hidden True Crime interviewed them and pretty sure the phone call came up. OMO.

Didn't SS learn that he wasn't invited to Maddie's birthday party because it was being held at her grandmother's house, and she did not want him there? I recall SS did not tell his parents about this, and even after Maddie went missing, SS pretended to his parents that he attended Maddie's party. JMO

Reading this discussion yesterday makes think her turning 13 specifically was the trigger. He was afraid of her father finding out. The thought never crossed my mind previously.

Yes, and Dad’s a Marine: No better friend, no worse enemy.

I remember the same. He asked his parents if they had any anxiety medication and finally found some that was long expired that seemed to do the trick.

OMG I just remembered that in one of her police interviews JS referred to Maddie as kind of "abnormal." 🤬

I don't have a link so does anyone else remember this? I remember comments at the time asking what parent ever refers to their child as "abnormal."

Did Maddie sound abnormal in anything any of those who knew her said yesterday? 🤬🤬

As I've had time to digest them, those victim impact statements have made me despise JS even more than I already did. She had a beautiful, precious child that any normal parent would treasure and nurture, and instead JS viewed her as potential competition in a "Woody Allen situation."

Rant over before I violate TOS.

What abusing murderer even gets the last word at a hearing for victim impact statements and sentencing.
Shocking to say the least, not even mentioning what disgusting things he had to say in light of his charges.
The fact the judge allowed this is unbelievable.

RE:Vile that an ABSR of children can be allowed to describe his victim as a joy to him. Out of order imo

Oh HELL no.... :( So many levels beyond out of order. I'm rarely shocked being a member her. I'm shocked...and disgusted. FFS.

I totally agree with you. When I posted, I’d just watched SS in court making his statement. I am like you, not easily shocked however his words about MS chilled me to the bone and let me shocked and furious in equal measure.

I haven't been posting on this case because it makes me too sick to my stomach. I hate that he got to plead no contest to Maddie's murder. My only consolation is there will be no grueling trial. I hope he gets what he deserves in his new life in prison.

Maddie, you deserved so much more than this! Rest in peace sweet girl. 💔

Usually the judge has some choice words for a defendant like him. Did this judge at least say something during sentencing? (I didn't watch.)

I also am shocked SS was allowed to give that statement. Madeline was failed yet again.

At least she knew her biological father and stepmother loved her.

I suspect The Enablers (most likely the female) encouraged him to plead "no contest" to murder.
MOO. MOO.
His no-contest plea represents him as a person, imo. Wishy-washy, passive, taking the easiest way out, shirking anything difficult, not taking responsibility for his grown-🤬🤬🤬 self.

Lowest of low.

Totally agree. But my point: doubt The Enablers encouraged this man-child to man up. OMO.

To use a metaphor from my hero Judge Hippler in Idaho -- another sleazy slithering snake. MOO.

Yes, agree. He allows his enablers to give him "outs."

Weak man.

In a criminal case, entering a "no contest" plea has the same effect as pleading guilty, including punishment. There are two different ways that you could essentially waive your right to a jury trial. You can either plead guilty or no contest. When you plead no contest, you are not explicitly admitting guilt. However, by not choosing to contest the charges, you are largely doing the same thing. Pleading no contest means that you will be convicted of the crime. However, you get to avoid a lengthy trial.

Not everyone has the option of pleading no contest in their case. The court may choose not to accept a no-contest plea, whereas they have an obligation to allow a guilty plea.

I dunno. JS exercising her right to remain silent when the world expected her to say something-- say anything, might have more to do with SS plea after all. o_O

There's no statute of limitations on murder.....

Sadly the Court does allow the Offender/Murderers to make a statement at Sentencing. Just this past Wednesday after hearing all of the many, heart wrenching VI Statements from the Idaho Four Murders (Maddie, Kaylee, Xana and Ethan) families, the Judge asked the Murderer if he had any words he'd like to say. He said 3 "I respectfully decline".

I agree what SS said here was more grotesque and offensive than saying nothing at all. A blubbering, pathetic, cowardly lowlife still trying to paint his own disgusting narrative about Madeline. Keep her precious name out of your mouth you filthy child rapist and murderer. 🤬

State records show Stephan Sterns has begun his life sentence. And with that comes a new mug shot.

The Florida Department of Corrections show that Sterns, 39, is in the Central Florida Reception Center.

Prediction: He's going to get even softer and fluffier as time goes on. I can't see him being the type of prisoner who gets buff.
