I hear you, and I would have done the same if the tech was there,The going to sleep without going online, on her laptop is questionable too. The exact same laptop that was tossed in the dumpster. A girl who just celebrated a milestone birthday. That's a huge deal. A very exciting time for a girl that age.Trust me. I would have been online chatting till the wee hrs of the morn if they had that technology back then. MOO
BUT
not everyone is like that. Some introverted people do not need to be in constant contact in that way.
I have two daughters, one millennial (30) and one gen-x (18). At 13, they had friends, but constant communication was not needed. The older one has remained like that, and the younger one flip-flopped at about 15 and became obsessed with social media and constant communication.
TL;DR
Even at 13, everyone is different, not all 13 year olds are extraverted and/or need that level of communication.
