The going to sleep without going online, on her laptop is questionable too. The exact same laptop that was tossed in the dumpster. A girl who just celebrated a milestone birthday. That's a huge deal. A very exciting time for a girl that age.Trust me. I would have been online chatting till the wee hrs of the morn if they had that technology back then. MOO
I hear you, and I would have done the same if the tech was there,
BUT
not everyone is like that. Some introverted people do not need to be in constant contact in that way.
I have two daughters, one millennial (30) and one gen-x (18). At 13, they had friends, but constant communication was not needed. The older one has remained like that, and the younger one flip-flopped at about 15 and became obsessed with social media and constant communication.
TL;DR
Even at 13, everyone is different, not all 13 year olds are extraverted and/or need that level of communication.

I always found it puzzling that JS was confident MS did not use her electronics Sunday night.
How does she know that? Did she actually go into the school laptop usage history? Same for the phone?
Using an electronic doesn’t mean just texting and calling.
Did she go by only what SS told her?
JS interview: "I just you know, there was no there was no moment in that evening from when she got home from the party that she had her phone or had the laptop she went straight to getting ready and went to bed, so I know she didn't have any conversations with anyone she didn't make plans with anyone I didn't--I didn't see any of that."

again, no timeframe as to what time Madeline returned home, IF she returned home, and with who.

Stretching your theory a little more...
Maybe he drugged them both Maddie on the way home from the party which would explain a 'straight to bed', and Jenn when she came home from work.

the autopsy report is withheld.....but the tox results.....guess that will be withheld too.

Seems cell phone use in schools is banned under Florida State law 7/23.
I'm in VA, our city and county school boards have banned cell use during school. School computers have a block on all social media sites. Moo

...
Following the recent Florida law requiring public school districts to ban cellphones during instructional time, the New York Times released an article questioning the sudden uptick in school cellphone bans and stated “the new state rules reflect an intensifying global crackdown on young people and social media.”

....
Additionally, the article points to cyberbullying as another reason why cellphones are being banned. Florida’s cellphone ban, (which took effect last July) requires public schools to block students from social media on district Wi-Fi and also requires schools to teach students about the effects social media has on behavior.

I have, 19 yo college student and 13 yo, middle school grandchildren. Their parents established cell/social media rules, quickly.
GD was given her phone at 14, GS at 13

All social media sites blocked until 17

9 pm to 9 am block no incoming or outgoing calls. 911 is a available, unblocked for overnight stays.

Most of their friends have the same restrictions. My grandkids are not attached to their phones, GS rarely leaves the house with his, afraid he will loose it.

Our schools have all social media and many other sites blocked on all school laptops.

I totally agree, with your comments.

JS stated she monitored and reviewed MS messages. Most parents do or should at MS age.

I do know Florida schools have social media sites blocked on school computers. They have strict social media laws for their schools and social media. Hefty fines.
New Florida Law Aims to Get Kids Off Social Media. Will It Work?

I see more parties on Sundays at this aged, due to after school, sports, dance, choir and other activities on Saturday.
I imagine many of MSs friends were at the party, that's why late Sunday afternoon get together.

I think the party ended late, clean up, pack up and MS arrived home past her bedtime. Mom ooh and awed over the gifts, and worked towards settling down, getting ready for bed, Monday was a school day.

Do we even know if MS and her friends have social media, it's banned under Florida law for those under 14?
Would JS allow MS to break Florida State law? How many of her friends parents would consent to violating the law?

Her school laptop did NOT have social media access.

The SM law was just signed recently. I don’t believe it was on the books when MS disappeared.

And just from experience with family members, banned cellphones in schools law isn’t exactly followed.
Kids still use their cellphones during breaks, lunches, etc.

not being picky here, but here are JS's answers, her checking appears to me it was done after she was 'missing', not a routine. another unknown but it seems possible to me there is a shared laptop/computer in the home that Madeline would use. in addition, HCMS handbook specifically states cell phones must remain off and be kept out of sight AND no earbuds, wireless blue tooth headphones, etc. (unless approved for use by the teacher for instructional use)

Q: Have you heard from like, any of her friends? Has she been active on any social media?

JS: She hasn't been active on social media, none of her chats, none of her games, uh, we did contact all her friends, none of them had seen her Monday, or heard from her um, yeah, there's no update.

Q: Jenn, what what is your fear I know you mentioned she's on games and stuff do you think she could have like met somebody and tried to meet up with them?

JS: From... She's open to us, she's open with us about you know, if she's got a crush with anyone, and she told us she had a crush on someone at school um, and I looked at their messages nothing was weird I looked at all of her messages all of her deleted messages, nothing seemed weird it didn't seem like she was talking to anyone, um, so I don't feel like that's the case. I feel like she may have been taken um, because this is not like her at all to just disappear and not tell us--not let us know where she's going or who she's with um, yeah.

Q: So, you think that she's been taken against her will?

JS: I do think so, yes.

New video of #StephanSterns' jail transport is analyzed by Court TV experts. The medical examiner's office has confirmed that #MadelineSoto's death was related to an act of domestic violence.

When the 911 caller was asked what MS was last wearing, the caller asked Jenn who must have been close due to the volume of her voice. There is talking but its muffled, and the caller comes back and says "we're finding out". Did I hear that right?

Thank you for posting this video @arielilane. The experts speak about the domestic violence statement that was made. When I think of domestic violence, I imagine someone being hit, stabbed or strangled - with bruises or cuts involved. Would anyone know if the ME would use that same term if she died during an act of sexual assault? MOO.

yes, thats what the caller said.

she was asked what color shirt and pants she was she last seen wearing...caller says 'hold on let me ask...Jenn, what color shirt and what was she last wearing...hold on, then says um or Im and says, we're finding out." then a few moments later after answering some more questions, she interjects "she was wearing a dark green hoodie, I believe."

thats the only description given in that call.

The social media ban begins Jan 1, 2025 so it's not even in effect yet. It doesn't surprise me that there has to be law to force parents to, well, actually parent!

I posted the actual statute previously and yes, sexual assault is included. Here it is again:

“Domestic violence” means any assault, aggravated assault, battery, aggravated battery, sexual assault, sexual battery, stalking, aggravated stalking, kidnapping, false imprisonment, or any criminal offense resulting in physical injury or death of one family or household member by another family or household member.

Madeline wasn’t even at school on this day so the discussion about cell phones being delivered doesn’t apply in this case imo.

When the 911 caller said "conveniently" forgot her phone, who do you think that was about? Madi or Jenn and SS ?

I took this to mean Maddie and that the aunt was saying it sort of tongue-in-cheek, not super-worried yet, just like, "Yeah, of course TODAY of all days she forgot her phone!" I have a 12-year-old with ADHD, and she forgets her phone constantly, which normally is fine but would definitely be an extra source of stress and annoyance if she went missing and I was still pretty sure she'd turn up any minute. I can see making a comment like this just to try to make light and downplay the situation to try to convince myself it was all just a big misunderstanding and would turn out OK. I don't think this is super-meaningful one way or the other.

maybe not, adhd people who forget little things is normal,I took it differently like its was purposeful. yeah probably doesnt mean anything. I was more wondering if the sister may have had some attitude towards them already or if it was tongue in cheek to madi like you said above.
