why is she adding information to normalize the behavior? What question was she asked that warranted that response? At that time, did LE know any of that? It probably all came from the " she can't sleep alone " comment. LE probably just asked about that, to get an understanding and she elaborated. She either thinks thats normal or what did she say that for?

My personal observation of JS is that she does not appear to process like most adults. IMO, there seems to be a delay between her mental and verbal processes.
Clearly, JS mannerism during MSM interviews was not what one would expect from a mother being interviewed about her missing 13 year old! For example, I'm recalling JS's silent pause, a smirk-- almost giggling to herself, at what I later found out to be a squawking parrot in the background.
I think we have to start here when trying to fully understand and assess JS's actions or inactions:
Although we know that JS was being treated for anxiety, we don't know her medical history or diagnosis. However, anxiety disorders are more common in autistic people than in non-autistic people, with up to 50% of autistic adults experiencing anxiety at levels that significantly impact their daily lives.
We know MS was associated with autism is some reports (and autism linked to inherited genetic mutations).
To be clear, we have no confirming information -- just offering more possible elements about JS for consideration.
Reportedly, JS would send MS/SS out of her bedroom because JS's own anxiety was so severe that she had to be alone. IMO, this begs the question whether or not these were also the moments where it was not uncommon for SS and MS to sleep together in the same bed.
I think we should also ask how did JS deal with an anxiety attack in the daytime? Would she medicate, and lock herself in her bedroom, and assume SS and MS were painting figurines in the kitchen?
To calm JS during these hypersensitive moments-- was it enough for SS to tell JS that he and MS played video games until they both fell asleep together?
I'm also thinking about statement from LE that when JS was presented with printed images of SS assaulting MS, she could not see the assault, couldn't envision it, as if she was in denial, and then became visibly upset.
Again, I think this is another example of the delayed brain process by JS I've previously opined on-- but which would be normal processing to her.
IMO, I think LE took a step back to review and understand JS medical/mental history, and why there's been complete silence from Investigators when it comes to JS.
Seriously, it's been nearly 90 days since SS arrest on SA/CSAM and not one sighting or bleep about JS by LE or MSM? I find this very strange.
Lastly, I can see SS as somebody targeting mothers with pre-pubescent children. 8 years was more than half of Maddie's lifetime!
When I think about how long MS suffered in silence-- kept SS's secret, I attribute this to just how skilled SS was at grooming and manipulating the daughter, and very possibly the mother too.
Also, there appear to be many cultures where co-sleeping does not follow American culture. This probably shouldn't be discounted when assessing JS behavior.
To assess whether the traditional pediatric prohibition against cosleeping in the parental bed requires reconsideration for urban ethnic minorities, cosleeping and sleep problems were studied in a sample of Hispanic-American, east Harlem, New York City, children 6 to 48 months of age. The...
