Two against one= Drejka and his gun.
OK - I'll follow the new math.
FOUR against TWO.
Jacobs, McGlockton, Both of McGlockton's hands ~ Drejka and his gun.

This is an important point in my opinion.

Gualtieri says there’s no evidence that Drejka posed a threat to McGlockton’s family, it was strictly a verbal argument, but McGlockton did engage in unlawful conduct when he pushed Drejka.

“Markeis wouldn’t be dead if Markeis didn’t slam this guy to the ground,” Gualtieri said.

‘Stand Your Ground’ Law Could Spare Florida Man From Charges in Fatal Shooting Over Parking Space

This is a horrible take. Victim blaming to the MAX. Drejka has in his history harassed and threaten to shoot other people. He bullies a woman and get confronted with a shove. He literally sits on the floor for 2 seconds before he takes his gun out and shoots M in the chest. M wasnt advancing, wasnt pointing, didnt kick or punch him.

SYG at least had relevance in Trayvon's case because Zim claimed Trayvon was on top of him hitting him, someone ontop of you attacking you is perceived deadly force. This is setting a precedent that people can shoot others, specifically POC, because they felt "afraid" from 10 feet away.

oh also Markeis was UNARMED!

Look at the video, the older weaker man was violently shoved to the ground. Here is the story as shown on video. The woman parked in a handicapped slot. The man told her she doesn't have that right. The man has the right to express that to her. She told him whatever she said. The woman has the right to express that to him. She got out of her car. She has the right to get out of her car. A man ran out of the store and violently shoved the older man sending him flying to the ground. That is assault, he DOESN'T have the right to do that. The injured man pulls himself up and the man who assaulted him looms there. He is obviously dangerous, he's proven it. The injured man shoots him. That is a classic example of why stand your ground was enacted. The injured man is not required to try to crawl away before he shoots his attacker. He has the right to defend his life.
As someone who hates bullies, my sympathy is with the older, weaker man forced to defend himself from a stronger, healthier young man.

an old jerk who harasses women and children and threatens ppl w shooting. no sympathy at all here. wish the dad got another lick in before he was assassinated. shame.

I can see the unlawful conduct but was Drejka‘s life in immediate danger? He was slammed to the ground, yes. What made him think McGlockton was going to kill him? I‘ve seen cases where people are slammed to the ground and kicked and beaten or threatened with a weapon but none of that happened here.

BBM, because Drejka was not "slammed".... he was shoved away and fell down. Slam infers he was grabbed, picked up and tackled down. Markeis pushed him and goofy lunatic fell down and sat crosslegged, he never even moved back in fear, he showed no signs of retreat. If your life was in immediate danger you wouldnt sit cross legged, casually pull a gun and shoot.

Well, McGlockton was obviously willing to assault him since he shoved him violently to the ground. I don't know, perhaps he was going to kick him next? Beat his face in? Whatever it was, you can tell what it WASN'T. He wasn't backing away. He wasn't finished. I would be TERRIFIED. Talking one minute, and the next someone slams you into the concrete. The older man was lucky nothing was broken.

He had the right to point out that the woman was depriving the handicapped of their right to park. They are in a car, they are obviously safe from that weak older man. No, there was one crime, and it was committed when the young powerful man ran out of the store and assaulted the older man. Self defense, through and through.
By the way, you can't assault a person because you don't like what they say. You especially cannot assault weaker people just because you're stronger and you will win.

he is 47 I thought I read? I am 43 and I am nowhere near old or weak.

Markeis started walking away before he was shot, yes.

Look at Markeis' feet and hips. Pointing to the right, AWAY from Drejka... if he planned to charge him thats a weird windup position to do it from. He was not advancing. Drejka has so much time to casually pull his gun out and aim.

well , way I see it, m wouldn't be dead id drejka minded his own business and britany had just as much a reason to be in fear as drejka did from being shoved. what if britany owned a gun? could she have shot drejka and been safe under SYG? hmmm.

There was no slam, only a shove.

It was ASSAULT, and just because you're weaker and older, you don't have to meekly submit to a beating. You can defend yourself.

If I came out of a store and a older man was harassing my wife, I'd shove him to get him away from her. What Husband wouldnt?

  • #96
Right?!?! 47 isn't even old enough for the senior discount. There are enough facts without having to make him out to be something he's not. Age is a number, not a definitive assessment of strength. (nor wisdom, for that matter!)

my husband is 49 and he is a scary guy.

I have a question only.
When M exited the store, he appeared to be empty handed. I understood he went to make purchases. J got out of the car when she saw him. Is this because she had phoned him to let him know of the situation and felt safe in exiting the car?

again 47 is not old. im 43 and I would go toe to toe w anyone who wanted to assault me. so would my 49 year old husband.
