reporting doesn't seem to help anymore IMO.
"Retaliation mode"?? What's that? D was defending himself. The fact that he kept pointing the gun of his aggressor tells me was in mortal fear. If he was "retaliating," as you suggest, why didn't he fire more than once?
I was diagnosed with MS almost 2 years ago. Some days ( not every day) I'm so tired at the end of a work day I can hardly put one foot in front of the other due to overwhelming fatigue. I could easily get a handicapped sign to hang from my rear view mirror for those days when I need to stop at a store on my way home. The reason I dont get one is because of parking lot vigilantes like MD who feel they have the right to police the handicapped parking stalls. I don't have a "visible" disability so it's people like MD who has a gun or a snide remark from a middle aged purple woman that keep me from having something that would make my life easier some days. I chose not to put myself in the "line of fire". There are too many mentally ill people out there that aren't compliant with their medications.
Can I get a "bless your heart" @flourish![]()
I'm sick of hearing about the "handicapped" sticker being used as an excuse for Drejka to to be painted as the so-called "victim".
SYG doesn't give him the right to kill someone after being shoved to the ground. IMO, Drejka didn't respond with equal force.
If the Florida AG has any integrity, this case will be brought before a Grand Jury.
They’re sick of it being used as an excuse, not sick of the stickers. All of us have been empathetic regarding the unlawful parking and have shown respect for the handicapped. We all know someone, love someone, or are someone who needs handicap accommodations.I'm sorry you're "SICK" of hearing about the handicapped sticker. These stickers you're so sick of mean a great deal to many people and when the spaces put aside for them are misused, it can make lives unnecessarily miserable. God forbid anyone should have to "hear" about it.
As for being "shoved" to the ground, it was a violent take down by a violent man. Yes, Drejka was/is a victim IMO. And, if the DA has any integrity, he'll stick to the law and not be swayed by threats of violence or out of control emotions. IMO
I have family and friends who rely on handicapped parking spaces, but I will tell you this: Not a single one of them would shoot and kill someone over that parking space, nor would any of them endorse the shooting and killing of anyone over a handicapped parking space.I'm sorry you're "SICK" of hearing about the handicapped sticker. Dude - I was born and raised in Texas. I know this event happened in Florida, but I have lifelong experience with gun-totin' folks who don't take s**t from no one if they truly believed they were about to be killed by a so-called lunatic. Don't tell me that a so-called "victim" who claimed to be in fear of his life fired only one round. Nope. Ain't gonna happen.
When someone is in fear of their life, that person will keep firing til they are convinced that the threat to their life is ended.
Drejka fired one shot because he's a coward who was using his CCW as an excuse to commit murder. He was waiting for the day, if not orchestrating the opportunity, to kill someone - especially someone who fit the descry

So, in return, I must question why you or anyone else should be sick of hearing about my outrage about those who seem to excuse the shooting death of Mr. McGlockton. Unless you endorse someone being shot & killed over a handicapped parking space.
Children have been robbed of their father. A woman has been robbed of her partner.
A man has been killed.
Does that mean nothing to you?
Gonna pull the cowboy card on me, are ya? Texan here, born and bred. And although I try not to have to state the obvious, in your case I must. Drejka didn't fire a second shot because his assailant was fleeing into a crowded store. But he was clearly prepared to fire again. The loss of life is regrettable, but when you assault someone, or commit a home invasion, etc, the law of our land allows you to defend yourself and your "castle." It's as American as baseball and apple pie.

Integrity is to uphold the spirit of the law which is self defense in excruciating circumstances. This was not. Drejka looked for a fight, got one, and became John Wayne for a moment and because he went out looking for a fight, much like Zimmerman, a father is dead. Something that 100% did not need to happen.
Beat them to death? It was a shove. A shove meant to keep MD away from the family of Markeis.IMOEveryone who refuses to lay down and let someone beat them to death is guilty? BS. And, NO, it did not need to happen if MM had kept his hands to himself.
Nope. This was started by the person who refused to alert the proper authorities. IMOThe sticker is not an "excuse", it was the catalyst that started this whole thing.
I think some of you would be wise to re-visit your kindergarten rhymes...ya know,
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." It might help you understand it all a lil' better
