I agree and most would agree that it should require more than a shove to take the life of another person.IMO
How much of a beating does he get to inflict before his victim is allowed to defend himself? A few broken bones? Knock an eye or some teeth out? What punishment is acceptable before you can stop the attack? Me, I believe you can stop it the moment it begins. I don't believe ANYONE is required to submit to a beating.

The whole thing revolves around MM attacking that man. You don't have the right to attack another person. That is the "real crux of the matter". That is why this is self defense.
You said it yourself. Only one man had a right for self defense. The other had no right to defend.
Now ask yourself why that is.
I really don't need a response as it seems clear to me you afford one man more rights than the other. IMO

So if a sweet little old lady had pushed him out the way and he decided to shoot her. Is that okay as well? Hmmmm

I am pretty sure that that Sheriff would have released that info if there had been any injuries to D.

We don't know, all we know is a large powerful younger man slammed him to the ground and he had to defend himself. It's all on video and is obviously self defense.

Why do you believe that? It was a nasty slam into concrete. He could easily be injured.

Because you can't attack another human being for telling someone they are in the handicapped space. Where was MM EVER in danger before he brutally attacked D?
Everything is on video, show us where MM needed to defend himself from a man he was behind and never spoke a word to before attacking.

There are consequences for men screaming at women and children using profanity. MM had every right to shove him away from his family, but you seem to think that he did not. I can only imagine why you think that.

I get that you think the reason for the shove was due to a handicapped parking space. How could I not when you post it every other post?
Now as you well know, or should know, I have a different view of why the shove happened.
MM may have felt he was in danger or that his family was in danger. Which is the basis of SYG.
Yes we have video. Since you have claimed more than once that MM came from behind versus the side of MD...how about you point that out on the video because your claim IMO simply isn't true.
Later all.

Where in the video does it show any reason for MM to feel threatened? He never spoke to the man, he just brutally attacked him. Look at the video, he didn't come within D's line of sight, he attacked by surprise in a coward's attack. A reasonable person would not feel threatened by a man standing and talking to someone in a car. However, a reasonable person would feel threatened when attacked by surprise by someone unseen. You keep saying MM was "threatened", so explain where on the tape is there any reason for a reasonable person to feel threatened. Everything is above board until MM decided to cowardly attack a man from behind, or blindside him if you prefer that terminology.

He did not. He lost his balance.
Thank goodness the video shows EVERYTHING. It shows that the attack was brutal, and that D was in a very dangerously vulnerable position.

Where is that written in Florida law? That you can respond to words with violence? Please post a link.

I think that it can be reasonably assumed that MM did not feel threatened, but he may have felt his family was being threatened. And I would question the use of coward here, MD felt very safe screaming (not talking) to a woman and children with his hand on his waistband where his gun was. And I prefer neither of your examples of terminology. I prefer shoved. Which is what happened.
