Whoa. So, I guessed right that he was going to blame this all on Megan. I've tried to read the letter - his handwriting is really difficult in spots, but the gist is that they had a wonderful day, he went to stay at the condo, she killed the kids overnight while he was gone and she killed herself in front of him.

And, here's the article about it, too. He's a sick, sick man. My "favorite" detail was how he explained that she handed him both benadryl bottles to throw away. Certainly, to explain that his fingerprints are all over them.

Another interesting thing to come from that thread was the fact that when he would go home on the weekend he would cook for the family to give his wife a break. Cook for the family interesting, right. I wonder what he was cooking up that weekend. So him cooking n offering them food wouldn't have raised any red flags in their minds.

I had that thought, too. I think he's just putting her in the place of him for most of the details. I think he also purposefully left the minivan at the condo so it looked like he was there overnight (if there were any cameras, etc). I'm certain that the police will likely have good evidence that shows this to be the silly effort it is.

Also, it was interesting that he was sure to mention Megan's research at some very specific websites - again likely to "explain" those things showing up on forensic computer history tracking.

This disgusting pig, it's not bad enough that he killed his whole freaking family, just like Chris watts, he has to stoop to the lowest level and accuse his poor wife of the crime. Hopefully his efforts are as transparent to law-enforcement in a jury as they are to us.

It just shows how devoid of a human soul he really is. The only thing he cares about is himself.

Yes, IIRC the coroner's report estimated they had been dead since around the 1st of the year. He was arrested on January 13th. Here's a pretty good article from CT where they still had their business.

His estranged father made some comments to the press. This article clarifies that the letter was released by the prosecutor's office and the Robert Todt was surprised it had been released.

Todt claims innocence in letter from jail, says wife killed children and stabbed herself

Robert Todt said Monday that he and his son have spoken on the phone three times since he received the letter on June 29. He's been writing letters to Tony every few days since his arrest, he said. This is the first time he's received a letter in return.

They most recently spoke on July 20 after Robert Todt called the jail, worried about his son. He said he's been scared every day that his son will contract COVID-19 as cases skyrocket in Florida.

Robert Todt said that in their phone calls, his son has maintained his innocence and stuck to the same story any time they discussed the case. "It was like word for word and nothing changed, every single time."

When asked if his son indicated why his wife might have killed herself and their children, he said his son "had said Megan was having some issues."

"He just said she'd had enough," the elder Todt said.

Robert Todt said he was shocked and upset that the letter was released before his son had his day in court, and he plans to speak with the state's attorney about it.

Todt's case is scheduled to have a pretrial hearing on Dec. 16.

Robert Todt said his son said that when he goes to court he plans to "stand up there and tell the truth."

And mom's an alcoholic. So that's his reason Megan had no relationship with her family.

I especially loved the part about the piano that would have to be sold, and how that was the most treasured, and he was hoping to get out before everything was liquidated.

I can only assume the takeaway from his "therapy" was denial. He writes about his kids in a detached way, and his wife in a weirdly endearing but non-sexual or intimate way.

He even boasts of regaining his confidence and losing weight. I guess Megan's existence was the cause of his fraud and bloat.
