This young fellow has been hospitalized, if I am counting correctly, 43 days as of today with no recent reports that I can find of his condition changing. That is a long time to be in the hospital, considering to about a week for open heart surgeries (per my knowledge).
I do understand this is a totally different medical situation.
Like many here I just want answers.
I just want to ask, anyone who wants to respond really....especially anyone with medical experience. With this much time in the hospital and what little really we have been told, what the heck is going on?
This man killed two people in cold blood, seriously injuring a third. I am just totally irritated that everything is put on hold this long.
Yes he may be gravely ill, and yes he has his rights. But we have rights also, as taxpayers. The victims families have rights to know something. Surely LE can tell us something...

What if they just don't know? Iirc, it would be several weeks for the more through drug screen panels to be completed and the first ones showed nothing. If he's not responsive or verbal, they can't find out from him and they can't move him to jail, nor start a trial, and he's not going anywhere. I know there's a lot of weird stuff floating around out there in the drug world but this almost sounds like he drank drano or anti-freeze (not that he did, j.s.).

I respect your insight. It isn't going to happen today, my plate is really full atm, but I certainly will go back and watch those videos, with a note of the things you observed as a reminder of what to look at especially.

I have played Possum Kingdom many times on youtube and never saw that video before. It wasn't there before.

I have found similar in other videos as I was making my own compilation from youtube on a sleepless night last week. Several of my fave videos can't be found anymore and there are new ones on artists I have watched often that were not there before.

I really really do not like the Possum Kingdom video that is up now. But I did choose it purposefully to illustrate a point.

While I may be playing devil;s advocate over some things, I still think it is very clear that Austin was mentally ill and decompensating.

BBM
Are you referring to the video Possum Kingdom with the guy pulling the bag out of the water? or another one? The former is the originally released video from back in the early 90s.

Edit: I too think Austin was seriously mentally ill, and was trying to hold it together but, obviously, that didn't work.

No druggy feeling, no hangover. Just random Facebook and twitter fights, embarrassing emails, surprise boxes from amazon.com, and amnesia!

If not for those few problems I would have stayed on it. :)
I would get up and fix large amounts of food, all mixed together, that didn't go together, apparently eat a couple bites, leave the kitchen in a mess and go back to bed. No memory of it at all. Thank heaven I didn't try and actually cook. It was usually stuff like pickles, cold pizza, and cereal mixed together in a bowl, with milk.

What was the name of the woman in Florida? There was a big controversy. I kind of think he might be like her. Not quite there and not quite gone. Perhaps his parents are holding on thinking if whatever he took gets out if his system he'll be okay.

Jmo

Terri Schiavo?

I have wondered if he is like brain dead, or when it was on the news did he have awareness of what he did? If I remember correctly he was oriented to some degree before decomping to his current level of functioning.

As this has progressed and parents are in the pull plug place in the entire sitution that has some more implications in this sitution, con sidering what will be happening in terms of his future
The only way to know for certain is a cat scan. I'm sure they are watching him closely, and he may be having a cat scan weekly.

I'd really like to know his condition as this sounds like a mistake where they're asking for a Sandra Bland:
“My understanding is that he will probably continue to need therapy. We made it clear to the hospital that this is a jail this is not a therapeutic place to be. We’ll do the best we can,” Sheriff William Snyder said.

Snyder doesn't seem to understand he's placing liability on his department rather than the hospital by basically saying AH is going to the wrong place for what he medically needs. This seems risky whether it's a matter of needing mental therapy or ongoing medical treatment due to physical injuries, like if it's mental, that's setting up a defense of incapacity with Snyder's own words being able to be used by the defense.

Don't you find the lack of media coverage just strange? Why aren't more journalists covering this? So far it's just releasing the Sheriff's press releases.

Surprisingly, he looks stronger physically than I expected after six weeks in the hospital. Not much muscle wasting and his color looks healthy, but it's hard to tell his mental condition though. He looked robotic.

I hope we learn more to understand what was going on with him. He's never been in serious trouble that we know, and has never been in jail, but after one unexplainable night he became a vicious killer. Now, he's facing such serious charges. I hope journalists will cover this more in depth because people want to know how and why this all happened.

Journalists must not think it will sell the tabloids like Brangelina Divorce and The Kardashian "Heist."
