Tallahassee woman sentenced to life for trafficking girl


A Tallahassee woman will spend the rest of her life in prison without the possibility of parole for allowing a young girl to be sexually abused for years in exchange for drugs.

Celeste Chambers, 37, was sentenced on Monday after being convicted in January on one count of capital sexual battery, one count each of lewd and lascivious molestation, lewd and lascivious conduct, child abuse and human trafficking. She will also be designated a sexual predator.

Chambers’ accomplice, Kevin Wyatt, was also arrested in connection with trafficking the girl. He pleaded guilty to child abuse charges last year in Gadsden County. He was arrested in October.

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) -- A man wanted out of Gadsden County has been arrested on sex trafficking charges.
Kevin Wyatt, 49, is accused of prostitution a young girl in exchange for drugs for 13 years.
Authorities say someone tipped them off that Wyatt was in Franklin County. He was arrested there Sunday. Deputies say he was hiding on a houseboat off East River.
