Update, 3:21 p.m. ET: Capt. Timothy Close said his officers have spoken with Nick Schuyler at the hospital, and much of what they learn from him will affect the search for the other three men. He said the search team is using computer models to estimate where the missing men may have drifted to, but that Schuyler's input will help the search. He could not confirm Ray Sanchez's statement that the missing boaters were together after the boat flipped on Saturday.

Watching 10 Connects online coverage. A few minutes ago the female anchor apologized for the erroneous report of Marquis Cooper being found alive. She said they received a tip from a friend to the family, but it had not been confirmed by the Coast Guard before they went live with the report. :(

I sincerely appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers for Nick before, during and after his rescue. And thank you to everyone who posted links and current information while we waited...I was going crazy trying to keep up with all of the various news sites!! I should have known that WS's would have the latest for me LOL.

Although it's a happy ending for our family, please keep praying for Nick's friends that are still out there!! I hope they come home soon!!!

I am so happy that Nick has been found and will heal.. but I am still very worried about the others who have not been located and now as it turns dark and more time passes... I am just praying for a miracle for these men. I sincerely hope god answers our prayers and that their guardian angels are keeping them safe.

It's so cold here tonight.

Does IR technology work on the water? If they're up in helicopters, would it locate a warm body/head? I'd almost think searching at night would be more effective than the day.

Maybe that's a dumb question; most of my knowledge of IR comes from CSI, lol.

anything new this morning? I remember reading a story not so long ago about 2 men who survived being in the ocean for 5 days with life vests only...even tho the water is cold they could still be found alive.....one good thing is with the water being so cool I dont think they will have to worry much about the predators
Roxanne Great news on your nephew!!!

yes, they are still searching for the other 3 men. Nick is doing very well today!!

When they left for their trip, the waters were calm. The waves kicked up in the afternoon...Nick couldn't even fish because he was seasick from the waves. The boat was anchored and they decided to go back to shore...partially because Nick was sick and also because the waves were getting worse. When they went to pull up the anchor, the boat turned sideways and a wave flipped it over. They all managed to grab a life vest and put it on. So, ALL 4 did have life vests on. Throughout Saturday night and Sunday, they were constantly knocked off the boat from the waves and had to keep swimming back to the boat and climbing back on. That's how they got separated and eventually, Nick was the only one left on the capsized boat. I don't think he would have made it through Monday...he was very weak and fading in and out. He did hear the planes overhead and knew they were looking for the boat but, obviously, they couldn't see him. He took off his yellow jacket and started waving that around hoping to get their attention.

They are keeping him in the hospital for 3-4 days. He is one very, very lucky young man!!

Thank you Roxanne for sharing this information.

It truely puts perspective on what happened out there. It is very sad. I always hold hope but it sounds like they just got too weak to hang on and climb back up anymore.

I have lived in Pinellas county since 1971 when my family moved here from Rochester NY, I was 5 years old. My first memory is standing on Clearwater Beach looking out into the gulf as I considered the vastness before me.

Growing up in Dunedin, I spent many summer days sailing, fishing, snorkling, in the Gulf and learned a respect for the waters. I have known people who where hit by lightning while out on their boats from sudden storms moving in and lived to tell about it. I have also known people who have lost their lives to the gulf while out partying on the barrier islands and their boats floated away, drunk they swam after the boat to retreive it and parished in the sea. This happened more then once.

Check this website out, http://www.pcsoweb.com/pages/missing_persons.html

This is the sheriffs website of missing persons, notice how many went out to fish and never came back, they where also never found.

Growing up here, like I said, I have learned to respect the Gulf of Mexico and can only imagine how huge it is and how many secrets it keeps.

With this said, I prefer swimming in pools and fishing off piers. In other words I keep my feet on land.

My prayers are with the families today, that their loved ones will come home to give them peace of mind and they will not be lost at sea like the others who's families will never know what became of them.
