I have read certain things on social media that make this situation even more tragic and make it clear this girl was just desperate for any kind of shelter. RIP the world failed her.

She was only 19, please don't shame her for her choices, people make mistakes but do not deserve to get murdered of course because of some naive misguided decisions. We need more organized community support for victims of violence and sexual assault.

I think she was overwhelmed with the stress of trying to put a roof over her head and everything going on with the BLM movement. It doesn't seem she was totally thinking straight; poor girl had a LOT on her plate and hardly had a safe place to rest her head apparently MOO.

According to court documents, the suspect in this case was previously arrested on May 30. He was accused of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and was released on a $2,500 bond on June 1.

Documents also say that Glee said he often helps homeless people. The probable cause affidavit from May 30 says the victim had offered Glee sexual favors in exchange for two bottles of liquor, but then she changed her mind.

How sad. This young lady needed help. May her family find peace.

This perp was in and out of jail so that must have been his lifestyle.... taking advantage of those he felt he could overpower. His definition of helping people certainly differs from the mainstream definition. I can’t determine if he is responsible for both deaths or just one. I’m sure we’ll hear more soon.

So likely not a serial killer, but who knows how long a "spree" could have continued if unapprehended, so glad he was caught.
So sorry for these women who's lives were ended early; I'm wishing peace and justice for their families. Such a senseless tragedy.

This is interesting. The person who assaulted her wasn’t her murderer. When she stated that person presented themselves as a man of God, was it really someone from the church??? This poor girl, such a tragedy.

Suspect charged with murder, kidnapping in Oluwatoyin Salau case

Her missing person flier drew national attention, and misinformation had spread throughout the investigation, "including false tip line numbers," police said Tuesday.

A team of more than a dozen Tallahassee Police Department investigators were looking for Salau, who did not have a permanent address, including checking locations she frequented, police said.

The grassroots organization Tallahassee Community Action Committee also held search parties for Salau, whom they described as a local activist, after she was reported missing on June 9.

The same day she was last reportedly seen, Salau had shared details of an alleged sexual assault on Twitter, according to Tallahassee ABC affiliate WTXL.

Salau had contacted the Tallahassee Police Department to report a "possible sexual battery" that occurred on June 5, police said, but added that at this time there is no indication it is related to her death.

"The information and description Salau provided to police and posted on social media prior to her disappearance does not match the person ultimately found to be responsible for her murder," police said in a news release on Tuesday.

It seems likely to me this is the same guy who sexually assaulted Toyin. Even though she has compelling English in her tweets, it's very clearly a second language to her. Glee probably just said whatever he needed to say to get her to go with him and she was still confused about it and gave even more confusing statements to police.

People who have suffered a psychotic break often talk about God and/or other metaphysical concepts. It's part of rationalizing their sudden dramatically altered perceptions.

What sucks is if police could have gotten a more concrete statement and gone there, to find a psycho and a dead body she probably would still be alive - but I can understand them being reluctant to take a heavy hand in a case involving BLM activists.

Very confusing story, he confessed to his mom, he met her on the bus and invited her to house to shower. In her tweets she said she was given a ride to get assaulter's home and then showered. The mom according to the daily mail says he does not own a vehicle.

I believe its the same guy, but she was able to tweet after the assault ? So did he track her down. It seems he killed her according to him that same day right after she showered.

To Toyin, a person paying for her bus ticket might be someone who "gave her a ride". She may have gone back to his house after the sexual assault to confront him (or to attempt to extort him as he claims). It's very likely the timeline is confused at this point since we only have Toyin's post mortem tweets and Glee's mothers accounting of the story that he told her, attempting to justify and also most likely in the midst of a psychotic episode. We probably won't get a better version either since he's confessed and the physical evidence seems abundant.
