FL FL - Royal Palm Beach, WhtFem Skeletal 12UFFL, 20-40, in woods, Dec'87 - Pati Lisa Loguercio Rust

I asked about the UID's nose, since we were wondering if her nose was slightly crooked or if it was a shading mistake.

From Mr. Ruslander:
Knowing the artist, I seriously doubt that it is a mistake on his part

I actually got another email from a man named Paul Moody, who turns out to be the artist who made the new reconstruction:
The victim's nose bridge had a slight turn to her right.

So .. that settles it

Can we give this UID a nickname? Something like ''Royal Doe'' or ''Royal Palm Doe''. Saying UID/UP/unidentified woman/victim gets a little tiresome after a while. And besides, it's nice to give the person a name until their real identity is found.

Do they have DNA for this Jane Doe? Can someone please find out if Leah Jean Van Schoick has been ruled out as this Jane Doe.

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/v/vanschoick_leah.html

Both Leah and our Doe have DNA in NamUs, so that effectively rules her out.

Ok.May I please ask what kind of DNA would they check with them. Are they being checked with mtDNA? Sometimes a match will not come up between them and you have to ask them and request a comparison.

Thank you for checking that.

Here's Heidi side by side with the new recon. I'm not good with faces and Heidi's head is tipped forward -- but it looks to me like her nose is straight.

Her teeth also look...unusual.

@Carbuff
Thanks for the side-by-side comparison. Heidi's nose looked a little tilted to me when I first saw it yesterday but, upon taking another look, now I'm not so sure. The tilt/crook in Doe's nose is definitely more noticeable than Heidi (if she even has one at all).

I wish we had a better picture of her. :/

I asked him and just got a reply:

''No I have not but, generally I never would. They would contact PBSO who would contact me. Also, no to what type of DNA. We send a bone or tooth in for them to extract samples from. Usually the response I get is that it is mtDNA.''

(The first two sentences is him referring to my asking if he's heard from Broward County regarding the potential match with Robyn Adler).

Looking at this again, I think that Sandra Norman (who Carl mentioned in post #2) is probably going to turn out to be Royal Doe. Not only does all the other information match up, but she looks almost identical to the new reconstruction - even down to the nose being tilted to the right. Either this is Sandra or she has a doppelgänger.

My only concern is that Sandra's CharleyProject profile states that her teeth were in ''good condition'', while Royal Doe had eight fillings and some cavities.

I don't know if she's been ruled out, so I sent an email to Mr. Ruslander with her information just in case he hasn't heard about her. I'm also asking if Robyn Adler has been ruled out or is still being investigated as a possible match. I'm waiting on a reply, so I'll update as soon as I hear back.

I think I remember someone saying that there are no identifiers on Sandra Norman and her family wasn't cooperating with attempts to obtain familial DNA.

Whaaat? Why wouldn't they cooperate?

If they won't cooperate, does that mean that LE is out of luck and they can't do anything unless the family decides to give them a sample? I can't think of a reason why they'd refuse.

Here's one more possible for "Royal Doe".

She's listed in Charley Project, but not in NamUs.

Donna Geneve Mullen

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/mullen_donna.html

Her facial shape is very consistent with the newer drawing of "Royal Doe". Broad Cheekbones, very narrow bridge of the nose. The noses are about the same width and the placement of the nose is about right with respect to the other features. Their chins are not too pointy. Their brows are very straight across. Their jawlines are narrow.

Jacksonville is nearly 300 miles from Palm Beach County. But the stats fit. The timeline fits.

ETA: I created a new NamUs casefile for Donna Mullen (MP # 26092) and sent an email to Michael Nance, requesting possible comparison to UP1213.

A few reasons that come to mind:

There are a lot of people who think that the government is using excuses like that to build a DNA database they will then use against us somehow. Not all of them are insane conspiracy theorists.

If a family member was responsible for her disappearance, they wouldn't want her to be identified.

Somebody is afraid some other secret will come out, like having to tell somebody they aren't genetically related.

Side by side. It's hard to compare because Heidi's head is tilted at an odd angle.

Has anyone followed up on this? When I came across Heidi Zampell, I google mapped where she worked and dropped off at the preachers house and the drive is a straight foward somewhat 2 and a half hour drop from where she was last seen. Also I believe she went missing in June and the body was in Dec. The back issues really made me think this was her. Anyone else think so with her not being ruled out..

I posted earlier on the thread for BILLIE JEAN HALL [http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?29217-MD-Billy-Jean-Hall-24-Jessup-28-Feb-1985/page3 ], but I just found this thread for the UID so I am posting here as well.

Both Florida cases; I realize it's likely not a match, due to the fact that there was no mention in the UID description about the cranial screws described in BJH's profile...but we know that stranger things have happened. I figured it was worth a shot.

AmyLou suggested this Jane Doe for the MP Patricia Louise Kelley on her WS thread (http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...tricia-Louise-Kelley-25-Cleveland-19-Aug-1983 ) I don't see it because of the circumstances around Patricia's disappearance (namely, the fact that she didn't have her prescription eyeglasses). However, I thought I should at least mention it here to get everyone else's opinion.

While that does make sense, it still does not solve the issue of arthritis.

I just wanted to add that arthritis, especially in a younger person, might not be noticeable to friends and family, and the victim herself might not have known she had it.

I have arthritis in my knees. I am in my mid 40s. So far when I am moving around it doesn't bother me at all, it just hurts like a you know what when I straighten my legs after having them bent for a long time. Mostly when I first wake up or after sitting in the car for hours.

I never bothered to go to a doctor for it, just happened to be there for a checkup a couple years ago and mentioned it. He diagnosed arthritis and prescribed medication but I never take it.
