Next witness, Junella Uaden, digital forensic examiner

Oh, joy, SB is about to see her beloved pink-cased i-phone.

No, SB, you can't have it back.

Or JT's ring.

Suitcase video is played for the jury.

Every time I see it, it's awful anew.

It’s so awful. Every time I see the video or even read about it, I feel like I’m having trouble breathing in sympathetic response and start to panic. I cannot imagine Jorge’s torment and fear.

Incredibly damning for Sarah. The length of time he was in there belies claims of an accident. At best it’s criminally negligent homicide, at worst it’s pre-meditated first-degree murder.

I wish we could see the reactions of the jury when they saw it.

If there's appropriate justice and a conviction for JT it's due to SB being so stupid as to video Jorge begging to be let out of the suitcase because he can't breathe.

Her defence is no longer that it was an accident. Her defence is now officially self defence / battered spouse syndrome and the explanation that her story has changed after 4.5 years is due to not knowing herself that she had battered spouse syndrome. She is being put on the stand to testify by her lawyer so that she can explain exactly what happened within the 11 minutes between recordings that means she shifted from playing a game to enacting a BSS self-defence intentional killing.

After 4.5 years of vehemently stating there was nothing intentional, this is quite some shift.

How could that defense work when she had Jorge locked in a suitcase and said there wasn't any fighting going on that day/night?
She's repeatedly said it was "a good day".
She wasn't in imminent danger for her life.

Owens has said a couple of times that the 11 minutes between videos is what matters, and it's what's key to the case. I'm not understanding his thinking here. What does he think happened during those 11 minutes that makes Sarah innocent?

BBM
Jorge miraculously got himself out of the suitcase, started threatening SB that he was going to kill her,SB feared for her life and told Jorge "you get back in that suitcase", Jorge obliged and SB left him in there even though he told her he couldn't breathe because she believed he would kill her if let out.

End of SB's tale and jury acquits SB. /s

I can only imagine, but I suspect it will involve a bunch of fabricated lies about Jorge threatening to kill Sarah when he got out of the suitcase or some such nonsense.

I can’t wait for the prosecutor to destroy her on cross.

Oh right right right. It’s just so preposterous that I keep blocking it out of my mind as the new and improved defense.

Seems like the defense's strategy boils down to SB's "version" of events and whether or not the jury will find her trustworthy. Now I haven't been keeping up with this trial as much as I want to, so I'm not sure of all that the jury has seen. But, IMO, if they saw any of that interview or the bodycam footage of the cops' initial encounter with her, SB shows herself to be untrustworthy right off the bat.

You'd need to ask James Owens that question! He changed the nature of her defence. The Judge himself seemed rather confused about this. We are all awaiting to hear how it makes sense (it doesn't make any sense).
