He tried to leave many times. He went back to his parents' house to live several times during their relationship, but returned to Sarah each time. She drove over there at least once to demand in person he get in her car and come back to the apartment. In the texts read in court this morning, she would text his mother's phone and taunt him about him being a loser because he had moved back in with his parents at age 41.

It's a fact that the most dangerous time for someone in a DV relationship is when they are actively leaving. Someone upthread suggested that's exactly what Jorge was doing on the night he died. He took out his suitcase, started to pack it up to leave her again, and Sarah lost it.
I wish we had been able to see what was in that suitcase.....was it all Jorge's possessions? Was he moving out after phone call with his daughter?

Wish more time had been spent on how men can be abused. I just dont trust juries after the Casey and OJ trials. You just never know.

The suitcase murder trial closing arguments will be underway soon. Inside the courtroom gallery is Jorge Torres' family, the two homicide investigators who interrogated #SarahBoone and the crime scene investigator on the scene in 2020 after Jorge was found dead in the suitcase.

Fox35 is replaying SB's testimony, she likes to incorporate her son into everything. So calculating, that girl. Not working..moo

Hope everyone is ready for a late evening....while I don't think it should take 6 jurors that long, they do have to read through jury instructions (who can remember everything judge tells them?) and probably want to see some videos again, at the very least.

The judge said they'd be back at 1:20, and jurors at 1:30. It's now 2:00 and we're still at a break. What's the hold up?

I predict a hung jury.

I am going to guess Owens.

That is certainly a possibility. I can see some jurors getting hung up on the choice between the different charges.

It's the state that has to walk a fine line when they're prosecuting a female who is defending herself against the killing of her so-called abuser.

After the videos I say that the defense really needs to walk a fine line in describing JT as the one who would violently abuse SB and she feared for her life from him.

Everyone is present in the courtroom w/the exception of the Judge and Jury, according to Fox35.

Owens begging for a plea deal? lol

I wondered if getting HER there a half hour earlier might have been a logistical hardship for the jail. Maybe that's why she's not seated yet.

Or there's a wordy argument somewhere off canera over eyeliner.

SB remains undaunted. Enthusiastic in her replies to the judge's questions.

I don't think SB thinks she's been exposed. I think she feels validated. Hard to fathom but there it is.

She is the train and the wreck and she doesn't even know it. You. Don't. Want. To. Be. Her. Passenger.

Remember, besides the suitcase videos she wanted the police to go through and watch the videos of Jorge on her phone. What we saw from her cell phone yesterday was what she wanted other people to see because she thought it proved her point that he was abusive and she was a victim.

SB testified it was a broken suitcase and she had the suitcase out because they'd been cleaning the townhome and she was purging things and intended to donate the suitcase with other household things she had put inside.

Please!
No juror misconduct.
There are plenty of alternate jurors.

Juror # 13 is a DV survivor.
How this is known I do not know but LYK addressed it the other night and he's pretty careful and I've read it elsewhere.
Maybe they can't deal with the deliberations after seeing the videos?
Just letting the imagination flow.
