OK.. so answers a question I had in previous post. He got her phone AND did the tire slash in one trip per above timeline. So afterwards, is when he sat in the car, in broad daylight, for 18 minutes more. This guy has cajones. Why did he stay in the lot for 18 minutes. This part REALLY sets my hinky meter off. Other employees would be coming for their shift, and perhaps see him! Why risk it.. or was he waiting there for a reason, other than to sit there and text immediately when one would expect him to drive away quickly.

There is another MSM article that has the timing of the texts... and one that had a video shot of the missing persons report ( I didn't screencap when I saw it and haven't been able to find again :banghead: ) but I don't have time to add to above now, perhaps someone else here can if inclined.

SMH.. I cannot fathom....

ETA: This is perhaps an addition to my musings above as to why he texted the brother.

As we learned from MSM (and the missing persons report I saw on an MSM video and has been reference upthread...) the brother was working at the restaurant that night also.

Perhaps the reason he specifically texted the brother was that it would be an excuse for her not showing up to work, as her brother would immediately know she was missing as a no show.

And he also knew (correctly) that her brother couldn't follow up by himself as he was at work at that time?

ETA #2: In the missing persons report (that I missed doing screen cap of on MSM video) it was stated that her brother was the one to find her car after he got off work ~11 pm

I mean, does this guy do drugs? None of the timeline makes sense for s person not wanting to get caught out.

:dunno: about the drugs as there are no previous LE records for such. As he stated that he was not at the strip mall that entire day, it leads me to believe he "perhaps" was not scheduled to work that day. (some folks may do drugs on day off?) But we don't know that for a fact yet whether he was/was not schedule to work as far as I have read.

That's why I'm flummoxed that he sat in his car for so long (18 minutes) after he slashed the tires, stole her phone etc. when other employees were coming to work for their shifts vs. :escape: and then do the texting that he did. Again, I want to see the timeline for the textings in relationship to him leaving the parking lot.

maybe he was able to make her look like she was sleeping or something? I have to assume such, otherwise I'm not sure how he felt comfortable driving with her in the car to the location where he dumped her body.

Just a guess but being Florida I am going to assume tinted car windows?

Gold's father, Daniel Gold, said around 6:30 p.m. as he was leaving for work, he got a strange text from his daughter saying she had met someone and was taking off.

""Hey i just [w]anted to tell you and mom i met a really great guy and we[']re running away together i love him and we[']re leaving to[n]ight i[']ll call you later when we get t[o] where we are g[oi]ng,” the text said, according to the missing person’s report. Savannah Gold's brother got a similar text from his sister. Police are trying to get information from Savannah's old phones. "Heyi quit im leavingwith my boyfriend i cant do this (expletive) anymore im fine justwant to get away," the text read, according to the police report. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/trending-now/parents-of-missing-21-year-old-say-strange-circumstances-surround-her-disappearance/581640213

" Their fears intensified, family members have said, when they received text messages from Gold’s cell phone about 20 minutes apart beginning at 6:11 p.m. Wednesday."

So it appears he had her phone for 18 minutes in the parking lot, and did not text from there. He texted after he left at a secondary location.

Again, Hinky Meter going off even more. Why was he in the lot still afterwards, risking he/his car being seen for that time, since it doesn't appear he was texting family at that time?

As an aside from link above, she had worked at the restaurant for about two years.

When I watched the video of his appearance, I was looking for scratches and didn't see any. Not until I saw this mugshot. I see scratch possibly on his neck?

Note to self - If I am ever being strangled, and natural reaction is to try to remove hands, go for scratching their face first a few times! Although he had the knife to puncture the tire afterwards... we still don't have autopsy report as to cause of death. We've had no information yet from the forensics/warrant on the car yet that they were in. :waiting:

ETA: I thought his mugshot was REALLY strange in that it was shadowed on one side. Are they all like this one... off to google images... ok, back. Yep, all of them on the net are shadowed. I have never seen that before in a mugshot. And the scratch is on the shadowed side.

I lightened the image. Now you can see the scratch clearly.

Jacksonville, Florida gets such a horrible rap for fast becoming one of the most dangerous places in the USA (our murder rate is horrible). However, I am always so proud of my city when something so tragic happens (Somer Thompson, Lonzie Barton, Maddie Clifton, Cherish Perrywinkle). We come together and we love and we hold their families up. Sherri and Dan are amazing people. The strength and resolve they have shown since Saturday morning has been nothing short of amazing. I know they are still in shock and at this point are just breathing. However, in suffocating pain, they have been just well.....amazing. Thank you for all that everyone does on these horrific cases. I really just come in to read and share little bits but never think of the things you all do. Again, thank you. If you pray, just keep praying and holding the Golds close to your hearts. They have so many miles to go. I am not sure they have any idea how long this legal process will take. It seems so cut and dry. We all know that is not true. I pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding. I also pray for renewed health for Sherry. So worried about how this will all affect her health in the short and long term. Keep smiling and dancing sweet Savannah. Justice is coming, beautiful girl. We will help your mom, dad and brother down her.

Such a beautiful post! Thank you Camdenres.

I don't remember reading what time the brother actually found the car! I guess I just assumed he found it during his shift considering she was reported missing around 7ish!

I'm thinking he might've spent the 18 minutes panicking over what he's done, perhaps he thought he'd just subdued her and when he realised he had killed her, he freaked out.
Or maybe he was researching where he could dump the body?
I don't necessarily think the killing was premeditated, it seems more of a rage killing - so it would make sense if he then spent some time trying to figure out what to do with a corpse.

IMO!

Just a guess but being Florida I am going to assume tinted car windows?

Good point.

But I just remembered that MSM had said that his car was "backed into" the parking space. Are folks in Florida allowed to tint front windows too? If so, he was facing forward without tint ?

So he sat in his car, facing the lane of the parking lot, with less/no tint on front windows.

Now seeing that she was supposed to be at work at 6 pm, perhaps that is why he sat in the car for 18 minutes afterwards. As he thought they were in a remote area where no one would drive by, but if he left, he might be caught by someone driving into the lot for their 6 pm shift?

Still  as to why he would hang around until all the 6 pm shift was at work as he left at 6:04.

"The report goes on to say that police went to the house of someone who was a known associate to Gold. They said they were texting with Gold at around 4 p.m. but tried to text her again around 6 p.m. and got no response. Gold was supposed to be at work at 6:00 p.m.

I have a Samsung Galaxy and if you long press on send when texting it allows you to choose a future time to send the text. I'm not saying that's what he did, that he was even smart enough to know that or that there would be a reason for him to do it, but it is an option.

Here's what I'd like to know, how many minutes from the time the car stopped moving to the time he got out to get her phone (if that's what he was getting - seems weird, why would she walk over to his car without her phone?)
That's why it seems pre-planned to me. She arrives, walks over to his car, talks thru the drivers window, gets in the car they talk more, she is killed. All in 14 minutes? He gets out, gets her phone (?), slashes her tire, then sits for 18 minutes. Shouldn't the 18 minutes of thinking time have been immediately after he kills her?

He was most likely waiting until everyone arrived for their shift so he could"not be seen leaving murder scene"

That doesn't seem likely to me - the hours that night were 4:00-10:30. Most shifts would be staggered I would think. 2 come in at 3pm, 2 more at 4pm, 2 more at 5pm, etc. If he wasn't worried about someone seeing her car in the parking lot and her not being inside and telling her brother then I have a feeling either no one else was coming in or they were parked in an odd section of the lot.

Then there's the question of who gets to work 15 minutes early? So, why not leave at 5:45? Parked there 30 minutes from when she pulled up to when he left is very risky if you ask me.

I'm also curious as to why he told her brother "I'm leaving with my boyfriend". It makes me wonder if Sanannah's 4pm texting with the male co-worker was a new boyfriend and her brother knew about him but not her parents. And the killer was jealous.

MOO as always

And then there's post #11 that said:

"Her car was not parked in her normal area when going to work. It was a little away from the Bonefish."

So, no doubt not where employees would notice, why? Premeditation?
