GUILTY FL - Sebring: Mass Shooting SunTrust Bank 1/23/19 - 5+ killed - shooter Zephen Xaver in custody

  • #41
Zephen Xaver allegedly called 911 to report that he'd fired shots withing the SunTrust Bank branch in Sebring just after 12.30pm.

After a standoff with officers, Xaver eventually surrendered to SWAT members and was placed under arrest. Video shows him being perp-walked in handcuffs through the parking lot to a police vehicle.

Police have not yet determined a motive in the 'senseless murders', but Florida Governor Ron DeSantis promised swift justice for the victims, whose names are being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities say Xaver was a correctional officer trainee hired by the Avon Park Correctional Institution in November, but he resigned on January 9 without an explanation.

A friend of Xaver's family described the 21-year-old as 'very normal'.

'He's definitely a normal person. I would have never in a million years thought anything like this would have ever happened,' Sharon Spillane told WFLA.

The Xavers' house was surrounded by crime scene tape for most of the day on Wednesday, according to local media.

'I am friends with his parents,' Spillane said. 'We've had barbeques together. My nine-year-old goes down with me. We've cooked together. We've watched movies. They are a very normal family.'

At Least 5 Dead In Shooting At Central Florida Bank; Suspect In Custody
Xaver was an online student of Salt Lake City-based Stevens-Henager College from September until December 2018 when he withdrew. He was also a trainee prison guard between Nov. 2 and Jan. 9 when he resigned, according to Florida Department of Corrections records cited by the Associated Press.

Very odd. He withdrew from online classes, then resigned from his job, then went on a shooting rampage the day his mother was leaving on a business trip. Is all of this interconnected somehow, or was this a young man who was becoming steadily more mentally unstable and unable to handle the stresses of life?

From 2016 FB he had large depiction of the Grim Reaper.
Was he obsessed by death? a cult? How was he spending his time? Recent photos during arrest show he lost some weight and
looked more fit. Was he working out and taking steroids?
Will be interesting to see the motive come out.

Was it a robbery gone VERY wrong? Police admit they are baffled why 21-year-old unemployed corrections officer 'shot dead five' at Florida bank as friends describe him as 'quiet' and 'well-mannered'

  • Cops say Zephen Xaver opened fire Wednesday inside SunTrust Bank in Sebring
  • Officers arrived on scene at 12.36pm after Xaver reported the shooting to 911
  • A SWAT team entered the bank to negotiate and Xaver eventually surrendered
  • Investigators say they have yet to find any motive behind the 'senseless' crime
  • But police refused to rule out robbery gone wrong as they hunted for clues
S Spillane, who spoke to Fox 13, said: 'I would have never in a million years seen this coming at all.

'We’ve cooked together, I’ve been in their house, we’ve watched movies. They’re a very normal family.

'He had a job and he was very quiet and very well-mannered. Anytime that I saw him, he was very well-mannered, always good posture and well-spoken.'

She said officers spent the evening searching the Xaver family home - a simple one-story structure on the city's west side, around four miles from the bank.

Xaver was arrested inside that bank on Wednesday after a standoff with police in which they tried to negotiate with him.

But after negotiations failed SWAT officers stormed in, prompting Xaver to surrender. It was then that the bodies were discovered.

Ex= girlfriend in Indiana tried to warn people about how dangerous Xaver was. He was kicked out of high school for
telling authorities he had a dream and wanted to kill all the
kids in his class.
She said he had sent her a pic of gun he had just bought.
He was always interested in guns and death, she said.
Good read to see how this evolved in last few years.

I was in banking for over 20 years. My daughter is a branch investment banker. There should be a video that will tell the story.

IMO, they were gunned down so fast they had no time to sound an alarm. And the sensors are within reach of all employees. This was not about robbery or he would have fled asap. Instead he called 911 on himself!

Over the years the public has gotten more and more aggressive. Just wackadoodle. I worry just as much about my daughter as I did my Marine son and LE children.

Tired of working is my guess. Now he will receive a lifetime of services paid for by the taxpayer. Lots of online gaming in prison, along with free room and board, free medical dental and no work for the rest of his life (50 years or so). Absolutely no fear of death penalty. I am hearing this more and more. They don't want to work and DO NOT fear going to prison. JMO, MOO.
