Jim Bob's letter continued.

"Jim Bob ended his message by warning his son that he will face "major consequences" for his alleged crimes.

“You are just going to have to accept the situation at this point and it’s also fine to pray that God would have mercy on you, but you’re probably gonna face a [sic] major consequences for several years to come,” Jim Bob wrote. “I pray that God will bring other Christians into your life to encourage you and that you can also point people to Christ even through the time you’re in jail and prison. God will be with you! He will get you and your family through!”

"David in the Bible royally messed up, but he repented and became a man after God's own heart. You also like Joseph who was in prison, can make lemonade out of lemons," he concluded. "I love you and we'll keep praying for you, don't give up. God is not finished with your life. Love you, Dad. 'Trust in the Lord, lean not to your own understanding.'"

Could you imagine being in prison for a "normal" crime, like injuring someone in a bar fight as a wild example, and a freaking molester of a nine year old tries to tell you that he can point you to Jesus?

With most crimes, there are two sides to the story. It takes two to tango. There could be financial desperation. There can be extreme stress. There can be selective enforcement. There is usually something that keeps the perpetrator seeming relatable or forgivable, even while the person belongs in prison for a while.

But when it comes to hurting a nine year old, there is nothing that is relatable or forgivable.

The arrogance of these people, thinking that they are so special because of their faith that that they can molest children, then bring a convenience-store-robber to God.

It will be interesting to see what path his attorney takes in this case. Since he allegedly confessed to the childs Father, how can they reel that back in? Would he choose a non jury trial, plea deal?
That's an excellent question, jury vs bench trial.

When it comes to the SA of a child and especially a high profile cases along with if there's credible evidence defense attorneys may fear jury bias and prefer a bench trial.
Also judges are less likely to be swayed by media coverage and of course emotions that can overtake some jurors no matter how they try to hold them at bay,
imo

I think a plea deal is v likely here, especially if that alleged confession is admissible. That gives prosecutors a lot of leverage. In a case this serious involving a child victim and FL charges, the sentencing risk at trial is extremely high. A plea doesn’t mean getting off easy, but it can seriously reduce the downside compared to losing at trial.

A plea would also avoid forcing a child victim to testify, which prosecutors usually care A LOT about. It sounds like the victim would be available here, which honestly adds more pressure to resolve it without a trial. Whereas with Josh Duggar, the case didn’t hinge on a child victim testifying.

IMO, Josh seems like the kind of person who was never going to admit fault no matter what, which likely played a role in taking that case to trial. If Jim Bob looks back on how that turned out, he may be more inclined to avoid repeating that situation here and push Joseph to plea instead.

And now the link for their "Go Fund Me" is gone. Odd.
It is now back up and revised: "My family is facing a difficult and urgent situation. We are in need to cover displacement expenses. we will not be using these funds for are legal expenses. Thank you all so much for your care, concern, prayers and donation during this difficult time. Thank you even if it’s just prayer. Your support means the world to us as we work to rebuild and find safety."

There appears to have been some thought the fundraiser was started by PC to help KD/JD... I think the Caldwell's are actually extricating themselves from the Duggar sphere.

Put your kids in school and all of the adults need to get full time jobs.

I actually worked a full time job, a part time job, went to school, with kids at home. So, they can all get full and part time jobs. That is what school and daycare is all about.

Oh, the horror. Having to socialize with people outside of your faith!!! Just like everyone else in the world.

Definitely not defending any grifters but I like to keep things factual. PC does have a job. He’s a Service Technician here:

Excellent. Now his wife can get a job too. I can't imagine asking (begging) for money, while still being at home. When times get tough, everyone needs to get a job. She can probably work at Walmart, at night, when he is home. Flipping schedules cuts out daycare costs.

Been there, done that.

Right, and if eligible, supplement the earnings with Medicaid and SNAP.

With Medicaid, one could get licensed therapists to help cope with the traumas of abuse, incarceration, and family separation by CPS.

Looks like a change is coming for Kendra:

  • Kendra Duggar managed the group of properties her husband, Joseph Duggar, owns and rents out in Arkansas while he was in custody for two weeks
  • Joseph advised Kendra on the tasks that needed to be performed at the properties, vendors who needed to be paid and payments that the company was due in jail phone calls
  • Kendra also received help with the day-to-day operations at these properties from Joseph's brothers including John-David, Jedidiah and Jeremiah Duggar
Kendra Duggar is preparing for the possibility of a new reality should her husband Joseph Duggar have to serve time in prison after being charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious behavior.

Here’s hoping Kendra can learn to support herself and stop looking to others and their wacky teachings. Her children deserve better. JMO

Yeah except it was his brothers helping so…

yep my parents raised 7 kids that way - my Mom worked days, my Dad worked nights and they didn't rely on the older kids to be babysitters all the time

I don't understand why this family is in this financial position at their age anyway ...

Kendra and Joseph Duggar reunite in Arkansas ahead of first court appearance in child welfare case

Joseph flew back home to Arkansas after his release with his father Jim Bob Duggar, who his lawyer Albert J. Sauline III says arrived in Florida three days before his son's first court hearing in the state.

It took more than three days for Joseph to arrive in Bay County after being released from custody in Arkansas on March 27 because he was one of the first to be picked up by Florida officials in a cross-country trip to collect individuals being extradited to the state, explains Sauline.

Joseph made his first appearance before a judge just a few hours after being booked into custody by the BCSO on March 31, and a few hours later he was released after posting a $600,000 bond.

Thank you tlcya. I wonder why the court removed their video.
Anyone know if daddy Jim Bob bonded Joseph out?
He did get bonded out... sadly. I don't understand how that was even a possibility with the way the family is. They will end up trying everything to get him out of it. But.. because he admitted to it on a recorded line to the victims father.. and Travis is representing Kendra to attempt to get the children back (Even though a requirement is for her to not be with Joseph and she still hasn't done that or proven she can) I wonder... What is going to happen to Joseph. Jim Bobs name is about to be destroyed and he isn't going to have that. Plus the police are now starting to look Into them as well.. There is about to hopefully be a whole lot going on at that compound..
