This case being in the infant stage certianly has a lot of kwinky dinks, and crypitc messages, for a reason. (in my opinion only)

Does LE assign certain people to watch online internet activity? I think they do, and I think they watch crime forums as well. AND I know families and perps also watch. example: Anthony's pages of WS posts in the garbage from the lady that retrieved their trash.

Do you happen to recall the topic and direction the sleuthing was going prior to the cryptic message? I am wanting to say that was thread #8... is that what you recall? I am so trying to work today and my memory is failing with all this other stuff going on.

Anyone have any insight on that?

It's common. Most serials admit to questioning any religion they may have had about the time of their first or first few murders. Also, killers may hint to clergy about what they have done and then feel the need to get away from the person they hinted or confessed to.

I guess I had interpreted this as being not as change of religious affilitation so much as a change from being a religious person to being less-religious, or a change from not religious to more religious. - A noticeable change in religiousness.

I suppose a total change in religion would be even a bigger red flag.

Insightful post Chili Fries. Brings up some questions for me...

1. Doesn't make sense that he would put Sommer in a local trash dumpster if he was in a car. Why not just keep on going? Were there roadblocks up that quick?

2. Where would he take a car that was safer than driving away?

3. Could he have tossed Somer in his trunk? If so, maybe forensics can retrieve carpet fibers that would lead to the car.

4. Was the car parked in a driveway - or beside a house - so it wouldn't look out of place when grabbing or luring Somer?

5. You suggest - expired tags..is it safer to stay in the local neighborhood with expired tags or get out of the town?

6. The abduction happened to quick, I can't help but think the perp knew exactly where he was taking her - seems to me he had a place to go and knew he wouldn't look out of place.

so far, nobody remembers seeing anything! This car stuff has me confused!!! help! :banghead:

could a neighbor she trusted pick her up on her short cut area.....drive her into a garage.......right into his house..........then after death.........put her in trunk and drive off? Everyone searching but she was right there!

Locals need to think about where everyone they know was on October 19th and what they were doing, and where the those folks were the few day(s) after. They need to think about visitors too. They need to think about people they work with, volunteer with, are neighbors with, see in stores they frequent, gyms, any little thing they observed, . They need to do it now before their memories fade. Anything seem a little noteworthy - then they need to call it in.

Everyone, please be careful as you search google for info. I just searched a person and facebook from another thread. One of the results was facebook for the person with a blurb of blog pages. When I clicked on it, my computer immediately went into security mode. HIGH threat--Misleading file download. It was blocked by my security, but just a heads-up to be careful on the click.

A few quick, important (imo) excerpts, with my comments in purple:

Sheriff Rick Beseler says...

* he "believes the person or persons responsible for killing 7 year old Somer Thompson is watching the investigation closely".

* he called it a "heinous crime".

* he called it a "child abduction murder case".

Those 3 statements above put to rest any notion it could be a hit-and-run, or anything other than what he clearly states.

The Sheriff also states...

* "The fact that we found Somer's body so quickly, I'm sure it's unnerved the person responsible".

I am personally reassured and comforted by the Sheriff referring to "Somer's" body, instead of "the" body, as I have seen in too many investigations. He is treating Somer with the respect she deserves. So often, investigators talk about the deceased as objects, calling bodies "it", etc.

Regarding the location of the killer, he says...

* "He may not be right here in Orange Park, but they're still out there".

Thanks for teasing all the important information out - I have no doubt this is a child abduction murder case. And I have no doubt this perp is bathing in his own potion of self-importance. Makes me wonder how people can exist on this planet who have NO sense of compassion or empathy for others. Don't you wonder why kids would be drawn to this sicko - what would he have to offer?

Is all sex offenders dna on file? even if they are....there no way the tests are back yet.
