ORANGE PARK – Sheriff Rick Beseler wants people in Clay County to know there is reason to be “vigilant and careful” until the person responsible for the murder of 7-year-old Somer Thompson is found.

“There’s someone out there, and there’s nothing to guarantee that won’t happen again,” Beseler said after a news conference on Wednesday, Oct. 28. “We don’t know if we have another Ted Bundy out there.”

Yes...but when it says it suggests that it is the same as it is in my city where the Department of Public Works is responsible. So while it may be a contractual situation.....does Orange Park DPW have control over the trucks?

And on the Clay County site there appears to be a distinction made between private & public contractors i.e. Keystone Heights is serviced by Emerald Waste, Inc.

It depends on where the trash was picked up from. A lot of areas that have Orange Park addresses are actually outside of the town limits. My house has an OP address but I actually live in Clay County. A lot of areas are that way. I am pretty sure that anything inside the actual town limits is picked up by the city. Anything that is considered Clay County is contracted out.

By the way, there are Jones' in my family, if you are curious about any recurring or interesting MI connection that may come up, please contact me, so that my info doesn't end up on the board by default. ETA: That sounded a bit cryptic, I'm not saying that there will or should or could be a MI connection, it's just so common a name, it could lead anywhere.

After reading all the posts, I think the crime took place at the 1080 Gano house that was vacant. I think this because of the time spent there and the amount of evidence seized from there. Somer's father said they found some "soot" found on her that CAME FROM THAT HOUSE-per Nancy Grace he said. Also, there might be evidence from the restroom because maybe the water wasn't working at the 1080 home or he didn't have paper towel to clean up the blood and cuts he endured. I remember them stating that took a light course at the 1080 Gano home to check for blood, they used luminol and luminol you can see blood, semen, fibers, etc.
I know they didn't spend a lot of time in the bathroom but is there a window in the bathroom there? Maybe Cam can answer that for me.

Yes, and in his newer jailhouse photo he is missing his glasses, unlike his previous mugshot! Hmmmm

I wonder where Jones' glasses were when he was arrested on the 27th...maybe in the landfill in GA. If she kicked him or hit him hard enough it probably bent the heck out of his glasses.

Not saying he's the one...just thinking out loud...what if.

I'm not saying it couldn't have, because it definitely could have. But I look at the two pictures and I see an alcoholic degeneration. That is nothing but a semi-educated guess, but that's what I see. Long term alcoholics bruise really easy. It could have been anything, from falling asleep with his glasses on or falling down drunk...
Not defending him, he should still be in a cell. But, although I see the bruise, it doesn't look like a heel mark. It looks like a drunk mark.

Elderly neighbor of 1080 Gano and his wife are no longer living.

Obituary of the man, Clarence, shows 2 sisters - definitely NOT Brian Jones' brother.

That doesn't mean they aren't cousins or something. Clarence's sister Shirley (who is also deceased) lived in MD as did Brian at one point.

JMO I think they are the same guy, William Davis , same bent nose, both have blue eyes. Latest pic he is bald. Anyhoo I am going to check him out, I want to know why he has a fugitive status. Just bought an SUV a few days ago...

I was thinking about healing time from when Somer was taken until the 27th when this pic was taken of Jones. He would have a good amount of healing in 8 days but being that he's an older man his healing time will lengthen especially for bruising. You or I might have no signs of bruising by now but someone his age would probably have bruises that are yellow etc. Looks to me that under his eye is just that, yellow bruising. Matches exactly where the frame of the glasses would hit if he still had the same frames as the first pic. Good point someone brought up about where his glasses are! (momtective and bogeygal!)
