Thank you for the welcome. Honestly its the first time I have felt included without being glared at. I do not know if DT is bad mouthing ST to the kids. I firmly believe the best thing two parents can do for their children is to love each other... even if u cant live with each other. ST continues to stand up for DT, and has not blamed her in any way that I have heard. He only blames the scum that hurt her.
I know that his efforts are now going to help make jessicas law a law in NC now. imo, all the money raised should go to help victims, or organizations such as this... agreed that NO ONE should benefit financially from a childs death.

I am not sure how to respond just to you. I am not blood related to ST, but we grew up together as second cousins. this is a small world. I have a house not far from ST in nc. But I live here in jax. My son and grandaughters are not far from DT's house. All coincidental. ST was at my house in nc the day Somer went missing. I was with him when he identified the birthmark on her leg. I attended the funeral here with him and I will return to nc for Somers service saturday. I am not taking any sides in this other than the side of lil ST and AT. I am just tired of everyone acting like DT did everything right. IT is the parents responsibility to get their children home from school safely. IF they had been supervised, this would not have happened. ALL Sex offenders, predators, should have a gps chip inserted in their body and a gps system dedicated to them only, if life in prison or death are not options. Then we would know where they are at all times. We do it for dogs.....

so are you saying ST went to see the body to identify it?? or just a picture they showed him??

so sad all of it is so sad.. no family or child or adult should have to ever go through something like this.. NEVER .. laws are just to laxed and perps know this.. just sick..

my daughter was helping in search and was told when the body was found and I told ST about the birthmark. He knew then that this was his baby. He found out just as we did. No call from DT. No call from LE.

Welcome sadnpod. I am sorry for your family's loss - Somer was a beautiful little girl.

Without coming off as totally nosey - which I guess I am - is there anything you can tell us about whay DT and ST are no longer together?

It may not pertain to the case really, but there has been speculation, so I am wondering if you could give us some general reason? Just differences? Was it anything to do with the injury? Was one party clearly at fault?

You don't have to answer - but if anyone could clear it up for us - it would probably be you. TIA

Well that's what she's saying but she keeps referring to the perpetrator as a man. How would she know this without having been given some details?

After Somer's funeral, the media seemingly left Somer T's town and case. Yet, there was Mommy on TV again today!.....is it just ME? Really? It is just me? That woman can barely speak to the media without smirking and SMILING!!!! Really? At a time like this?????????????????????????????????????? I can only hope and have faith that LE is ON TO HER and everything behind all her smirky smiles.....................I mean....REALLY??????????

Did something happen between DT and ST to cause her to stop the phone contact with his family? (that question just seems like there could be no reason, but maybe there is)
If not, I have a very bad feeling that maybe there were some folks &/or circumstances in these kids lives that DT didn't want them talking about. Or maybe the boyfriend is controlling and tried to limit/isolate DT's and the kids' contact with outsiders.
All just speculation b/c I don't know anything.

I would think they had one by now. But what jumped out at me was the fact they had not even told the Mom. Makes me think they are not releasing it hoping the killer will slip up and show inside knowledge, so to speak. :waitasec:

ETA....and since Mom has not been told, maybe she's not in the clear?

Do you have an idea WHY she would let ST out of little Somer's obit???
It seemed so cold to me.
