So I guess us bloggers who live in and around the area aren't taken seriously and are hindering the investigation if we contact the LE with what we feel are leads? I personally am insulted. Because I contacted them regarding the conversation my husband had with the clerk at the gas station... guess I should have kept the information to myself, huh?!? geeezzzee louise .:waitasec:

no.. .you did great things in reporting that.

LE needs to release more info to the public and also do some updates... even if they say NOTHING. They are handling themselves right now much like LE in the Neveah B. case and it is really starting to pi$$ me off.

They need to take a lesson from the LE in Sandra Cantu's case... they kept with daily briefings streamed live until the killer literally cracked. They kept the PRESSURE ON.

We do not need to see Somer's mother... we need to see those handling the case giving real updates/reassuring the public... what good is an FBI talking head going to do saying there may be a serial predator out there going to do this again unless he is caught.... and LE says nothing but bash people who are doing all they can to help them out..

imoo I think she is addressing the killer... kinda like a "we're gonna get you" kind of thing and at the same time a sort of mantra.... to help herself keep focused in that belief despite the amount of time it has been since she went missing and her little body was found.

My mantra... please don't let this be another Neveah B. Case....

ETA: the reason for the mantra... because I sense it slipping there... and I seriously have my doubts this will be solved soon... but we gotta keep the faith right?

Yes, Thank you bringing me back.. I know we have to keep the faith nursebee but dang it ... it gets hard when so many things get put out wrong or twisted and by the ones that shouldn't of made the mistakes.

everyone is human yes .. mistakes happen but LE is taught I thought to dot i''s and cross t's and double triple check..

Shadowzar, correct me if I'm wrong, but Orange Park is a small town & only has a maximum of 6 police cars. Clay County includes Green Cove Springs which is where the Clay County Sheriff, Besler is along with his deputies, which are different than the ones assigned to Orange Park...

Orange Park is a small town south of Jacksonville FL. The actual incorporated part of town consists mainly of Kingsley Ave from Blanding to 17, everything else is patrolled and responded to by the Clay County Sheriffs Office and while it may have an Orange Park address is actually considered Clay County FL.

Ms Suzanne, in the link that I believe Noway has reproduced a few posts above, I listed all of the girls missing anywhere in Florida up through 13 yrs old from the 70's on. Some on the list are still missing, while others are now unsolved homicides because at some points their remains were found. The only girls not on the list would be abducted/murdered children who were tied to a perpetrator who was convicted for their disappearance - and family abductions where there seemed to be no question that the non-custodial parent took the girl.

has anyone done any research on other missing children being found in dumpsters or at the dump? I tried the other night but wasn't so successful. I will try again.

usually when missing children are found dead they are by the roadside or in fields, forrests, buried in shallow graves etc.
maybe there is so little on children found in the landfill because it's like a needle in a haystack there. without the quick thinking of LE, Somer would not have been found imo.

do perps tend to dispose of their victims in similar manners? I'm thinking if something works for them they wouldn't switch it up, but who knows.

Looking for a common thread.
I still think it is someone local for this to have been carried out in broad daylight, but maybe this person soon left town, or maybe this person used to live somewhere else and committed crimes wherever else they lived in the US.

Or it could really be WLK who seemed to have the perfect storm brewing in his life.

Another, whose name was on the initial police report after a woman thought she spotted him near Orange Park, was in Texas. When he discovered he had incorrectly been mentioned in the case, he nervously went to authorities there to say he was not near Florida."

I'm assuming this refers to GV and CWG.

Ok. if these guys are CLEARED, then why doesn't LE come out and say so? They either are cleared, or they are still potential suspects. le could EASILY discount what they call "rumors" by putting out a statement that gives the facts. Give us a time line. Clear all of the people who have a firm alibi.

also, on that link after that reporter gets done there is an interview with DT I have not heard yet.. just her talking .

I think it was Paul John Knowles who confessed to killing the Anderson girls and buried them off the west end of Commonwealth Blvd, though they were never found.

I think it unlikely any of those old cases are related. If anything I'd be leaning more towards the anniversary serial killer as it's more recent, but even he doesn't fit the MO. The one who killed the 3 11 yo girls from trailer parks that had construction going by at the time of the abductions. Also happened within the same month every year or two. When I first heard that construction was going on at th Gano house, that was my first immediate thought, even though it's most likely not connected.

I really believe infinity is most likely the closest of what happened to Somer as it best fits the small bits of what we do know. Whether she's correct on the motive or what actually happened, I don't know, but considering how Somer seemingly vanished into thin air, without anyone seeing her pulled into a vehicle or snatched, infinity's dream/vision seems plausible.

Funny isn't it, that Detectives' are online using their "new" program as we speak, scouring various sites looking for POI that might be bragging to others, I guess we are not that much of a pain in the butt.

he would have been in jail when somer went missing.

12-29-72 - age 13, Deborah Sue Lowe, missing from Pompano Beach, FL. Disappeared walking to school. Gerald Schaefer has been considered as a POI in the case - http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1673dffl.html

The Gerald Schaefer who is a POI in this Lowe case was once a police deputy and has now been linked to 20 or more deaths of girls and women ages 9-25 in a 3 year span 69-72.
clearly this guy didn't have a specific age except 9-25 but that covers a lot of ground. makes me rethink who we are looking for. . .

I don't see how he became a police officer after being fired from teaching.. that is a red flag there.. don't or didn't they do back ground checks on po back then..??

I know they suspect Schaefer and Knowles. However, there is frequently an LE push to link unsolved cases to serial killers (think Henry Lucas). If the suspect cannot definitively lead investigators to recover a body, then I consider the case still open.
