His next court date is March 10th, next Wednesday but I am not sure what this court date is for, anyone know?

  • #702
I think they are in no rush. He's not going anywhere.

I totally agree. They have the luxury of time and the LAST thing they should do is rush anything and risk blowing the case.

I am all for Justice for Somer..but I am not sure that this new fad of putting stuff on perp's famly garage doors is good at all....

Respectfully snipped.

I agree. Smacks of vigilante justice and lynch mobs. The great thing about being American is that all of us... ALL of us... have the right to be tried in a court of law and judged by a jury of our peers. JH has not been found guilty yet. Indeed, he's not even been charged yet. Stuff like defacing the Gano property could end up being good for JH when trial time comes, should he be charged with Somer's murder. His attorney can argue that his trial needs to be moved because of pretrial hostility toward him and his family.

It is for his arraignment. I think his plea , whether he pleads guilty or not to his current charges.

Thanks Cath. I assume we can expect that "not guilty" reply, since it appears he is not confessing.

[I am all for Justice for Somer..but I am not sure that this new fad of putting stuff on perp's famly garage doors is good at all....

Now we see a painted garage door in the case of that poor gal in California....someone painted on the perps parents' house..

I have only seen two this one and the one yesterday in California so don't think it is a Fad. The one in California was terrible for sure but I can understand the frustration of the neighbors there because he is suspected of harming/killing 5 girls/women. They have proof for sure two. I don't condone that behavior and agree with you we all need to "do" something constructive.

I think it is a bad fad...first it was "ribbons"..then teddy bears...now deface the property of relatives of a perp?? what next?

"As for the "Justice for Somer" sign they are all over that neighborhood and most of Clay County. They are everywhere. Also putting the sign up was not destructive to the property at all.

It also is really NOT fair to the neighbors who had nothing to do with this...I can see how things might escalate".

What is wrong with people expressing their sorrow for a little girl by putting thing in a neighborhood memorial if it helps the people there feel closer to the child and show support to the family? It's their neighborhood they can do whatever they please as long as it does not hurt someone. The neighborhood seem to be fully behind everything that has been done. Have not heard, read or seen on TV anyone complaining. By the way the memorial to Somer is still on that corner across from her home with "ribbons, teddy bears" and also includes candles and signs just like on the garage door and is continually updated. Again I do not condone anyone destroying someone property. I don't think the sign in any way destroyed JH property. Who knows his family could have put it there or asked for it to be put there, I doubt that but they could have.[/COLOR]

It could be dangerous too...one of these "perp families" may retaliate..someone could get hurt...I remember the crowds in front of the Anthony house ...that was scary

To compare Somers family with the Anthony's is way out in left field. There is no comparison. The Anthony's brought everything on themselves. I did not enjoy seeing what was done to them and wish it had never happened. No good came from it, just MO. And yes they were in danger because of their own actions .

People need to use their heads.....if they want to "do "something, how about working to pass laws, strengthen laws....sign petitions...call and write lawmakers....get active...volunteer. Maybe there could have been a volunteer after school service to watch kids like Somer so they don't have to walk home alone...maybe people could petition school board and city for after school programs...

They do have after school programs in the schools provided by the YMCA. Most parents married or single can't afford to put their children in these program. They cost more than they can afford.

I agree that we all as a nation need to stand up and be counted to protect our children and adults from SO. Once they are found out and convicted they should spent the rest of there life in prison. They cannot be "healed".

"much better than a sign like that"

You know in some small way maybe the children who pass there everyday on their way to and from school will see the sign on that garage door and make them more aware of the dangers they face and make them more cautious. Also the adults in the community and Clay County see the signs everywhere and hopefully it will remind us we need to make our voices heard and changes will happen. JMO[/B]

No offense to LogicalMinds or anyone else just my opinion. I agree competely our country needs help in dealing with these scumbags! NOW!!

I thought for sure they would have charged him in Somer's case by now. It seems odd they would publicly name him a POI in the case without some kind of evidence - kwim? If they have the evidence, then why not charge him? I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster ride with the CCSO - sometimes it appears as though they are doing a fabulous job and other times not so good...

Here are just a few things I would imagine they want to do before charging him.

They have to process all the evidence they got from the gano house the family lived in, all the evidence from the moms new home and shed, and all the evidence from the aunts house and from JH's car.

Now that they know JH did it and I do believe they have his DNA under her finger nails or other DNA of his on her I bet they are getting all the video from cameras at businesses that are on the route from his house to whatever dumpster she was put in. This would be lots of business possibly and lots of hours of video to watch looking for his car.

I think fiber evidence will come into play from his trunk or car so all that will have to be processed. If she was wrapped in a blanket or rug other peoples cameras might have been siezed at the homes or from friends to look for that particular item in pictures.

Think about all the suspects and possibilities we have come up with here, they want this airtight and with enough evidence to rule all those out.

The more work they do now before charging him the more likely it will be a short slam dunk trial costing the people less in the long run.

Hi everyone. Glad to see you back here NSC, and that you are ok.
I just went back and looked at the map of RSO's living near Somer's home. I counted 24! living in fairly close proximity. I understand that L.E. interviewed them all, and then i had the thought of hoping L.E. checked their DNA as well, all the RSO's living nearby. But i guess all their DNA is in a criminal database?, so they would have tried to match them to any DNA they had of Somer's, if there was any DNA from her that is? Guess it would all be a process of elimination as far as a perp. goes.

Hanging a sign on a garage door is not defacing IMO.

Hi angels...I'm assuming there was DNA since they asked JH's father for a swab. They had to be comparing it to something IMO.

Unless they were just collecting DNA for their data base once J.H. had been nabbed with the other crimes he is now in prison for. If it is standard protocol to do that with all criminals once charged with a crime, then i would think obtaining DNA is standard procedure? They may be also looking to match him to any other crimes too?

I guess that's possible but this was weeks before he was arrested and this was also before they had the pictures/video of JH and the 3 year old that was found at JH's mom's house.

At the time the DNA was requested from JH's father, I think all they had on him was child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 where he had pictures and videos. I don't think they had any thing that showed he actually molested or touched a child.

If that is the case, IMO they would have been in no rush to take DNA from his father.

IMO the only reason they would go to the legnths to get DNA from a relative would be to compare it to something they already had like DNA from a crime scene.

Here is the best great thing about being an American to me is. We can all form or own ideas whether a person is innocent or guilty of a crime and state that fact.

We have no idea who put that sign on that garage door. It very well might have been a relative of his that had permission.

I love seeing the sign there.

IMO it's just a little way to make a statement.

Someone wanted to say "Thank GOD they have him. Justice for Somer"

That's the way I'm looking at it.

They did no damage to the property and it's not like it's an over the top huge sign. Just a simple little sign to make a statement.

I wish the local news would cover the story of the sign and possibly JH could see it on TV in jail. I am sure it would pizz him off.

Hey All, I am back! I am still alive - the big guy is not ready for me yet! Thank you for your kind words and prayers!!! Still not feeling right but hope to get to the bottom of it soon.

I don't know how to answer this. :waitasec:

Can we use a hypothetical situation? And can we keep it hypothetical? Please? I do not want to break TOS in any manner.

NSC, Glad to hear you are ok. IDK know about keeping it hypothetical, I don't want to violate TOS either or for any of us too, KWIM.

I wish there was technology that could find and detect all child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on the internet and zap it!!!

And zap all the people looking at it!
And zap all the people who made it!

That would be nice dar107.

DNA was requested from his bio dad ~January 6. In the article in which his bio dad talks about that, it is also reported that JH gave DNA (so between ~January 6 and February 17), but IDK if true.

The camera/SD card evidence that resulted in the charges were found when they searched his mom's house in Callahan.

If he has not given DNA, he will be mandated to give it because of the law discussed previously.

I agree that they must have DNA from Somer to compare to. (JMO) I hope it can be linked to the guilty person as the result of being the perp, not as a result of her being in normal contact with the killer.

  • #720
Yeah that's what I'm saying. They didn't have the sd card when they asked for DNA from JHs dad. Why would they go to all that trouble unless they had something to compare it to.

IMO they had DNA evidence they got from Somers body. Either under her nails or an internal cavity. They swabbed the father then 6 weeks later, I think the tests came back. I think they were some of the tests they were waiting for that came back shortly before JH was nabbed.
