Just saw the article below -- please forgive if it's a repeat.

What, what, what? LE doesn't think it was random.
Two cute young boys -- best friends. Sounds like they were not trouble-makers.
How can kids this young be victims? I know, I know, we've seen it before.
Girl problems? Were the ones who hurt them out for a lark and it turned ugly? Gang initiation? Mistaken identity? And on, and on, and on.
This one's got my heart.

Two Florida teenagers have been found dead along a country road, and authorities are searching for suspects in their murders.
A trucker driving along a rural county road in Wildwood, Fla., discovered the bodies of 17-year-old Isaiah Alexander Nelson and 16-year-old Prestin Wayne Nixon early Wednesday morning. They had been shot to death.
"I just found two dead bodies," the driver told the dispatcher in a 911 call released on Thursday. "I'm shaking right now."
[...]
"We believe at this time that both victims may have known their assailant," Galvin continued. "Our detectives are working tirelessly to follow up on any leads, and we're asking for the community's help in solving this brutal and senseless murder."

I wonder why investigators believe the boys knew their killer?
Can only guess... They'd told their parents or others they were going out to meet up with people? They were carrying weapons and hadn't drawn them or tried to run away? There were cigarette butts/empty cans where they fell, indicating they'd been hanging out with others for a while? Can only speculate.

Had they been reported as missing?

Just learning of this case but thinking about if they may have crossed some property lines and made someone angry? LE seems to think they were hanging out with others at the scene so somebody may talk.

I thought I’d read their boys’ bodies had been “dumped at the side of the road,” which I took to mean they’d been brought to the location rather than hanging out there

I only read that there were cigarettes around. I need to dig in more.

I can’t find much media on this, most are pay sites and I don’t have a FB account.

These boys looked adorable and preciously nerdy. One of them is playing Magick I think.
Im betting they were lured out there.

Another article from the local ch6 reports the area being known for parties, racing, and gunshots. It sounds like a place where young people gather. I know in my youth, this kind of hanging out got us tagged as trouble when we weren’t but racing can cause some arguments.
