A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged after a social media challenge led to the death of a woman’s dog.
A 14-year-old was arrested at school on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in connection with the death of a woman's 3-year-old Yorkshire terrier named Spookie, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said in a press release. The teen was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges of burglary and criminal mischief after a Dec. 20, 2025 "door-kicking prank" inspired by a social media challenge.
