LAKELAND | A Silver Alert was issued Monday for a missing and endangered 85-year-old man by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Thomas Joseph Morgan Thomas Joseph Morgan, who suffers from dementia, walked out of his home at 1639 Country Meadow Drive around 3:30 p.m. to take a walk around the neighborhood, which he usual does.

That was the last time his roommate and caretaker saw him.

Some neighborhood kids getting off a school bus saw Morgan walking toward Rockridge Road about that same time as well.

He has not been seen since.

Morgan is described as a white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with white hair. His eye color is unknown but may be hazel or green, according to his driver license photo.

He is on foot, does not drive and has a revoked driver license.

Anyone who sees Morgan should contact local law enforcement immediately

LAKELAND | Every phone call or knock on the door Tuesday gave Janice Morgan hope that her 85-year-old father had been found.

Her prayer was that Polk County deputies could locate Thomas Joseph Morgan before 24 hours had passed. But by Tuesday night, she knew chances of survival for the Alzheimer's patient were dropping.

"I think they are doing everything they can do to find him," she said of the deputies. "But I think it's going to be up to the public at this point to spot him somewhere. With his mental state, you don't know where he's going to go."

Nearly three dozen Polk County Sheriff's deputies combed North Lakeland on Tuesday, searching for Thomas Morgan who walked away from his home at 1639 Country Meadow Drive on Monday.

LAKELAND | Janice Morgan hasn't given up hope of finding her 85-year-old father, who has been missing since last week.

She's now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the return of Thomas Joseph Morgan.

Sadly, it looks like he's still missing. Curious as to why his caretaker didn't walk with him as this seemed to be part of his routine.

Looking at the street view of the address it looks like a dirt road with a few side roads/driveways. House are spaced apart. There is a lake that doesn't seem to be too far from where he went missing. Wonder if the lake has been searched. I can't tell the size of the lake as it seems to be hidden by trees in the arial footage.
