I wonder if Aidan still thinks this is all so amusing?

Florida has the DP yes?

I’m thinking a plea to LWOP might work.

MOO

The United States Supreme Court prohibits execution for crimes committed at the age of fifteen or younger. Nineteen states have laws permitting the execution of persons who committed crimes at sixteen or seventeen. Since 1973, 226 juvenile death sentences have been imposed.
Juveniles and the Death Penalty

Going to be a LOOOONNNNNG time in prison if convicted.

ETA: I heard how many stab wounds earlier, but wasn't MSM. Can get a driving permit at 15 here, and plenty of 14-15 yr olds work. Charged as an adult wasn't a surprise.

State Attorney says he's disappointed that the teens/friends who heard Aiden Fucci make alleged comments about his plans to kill someone didn't come forward and tell anyone. Says there's no evidence those teens were connected to the crime itself.

State Attorney says bottom line is IF Aiden Fucci is convicted & gets a life sentence -he would be eligible for a review at 25 years old. Says Fucci would get certain benefits/accomodations due to his age at the time of the crime he is charged with.

State Attorney:
114 stab wounds.
49 stabs were defensive in nature - (hands, arm and head)
Fucci made statements he intended to kill someone by taking them into the woods and stabbing them
Knife found in pond. Tip was broken off and found in victim's scalp
DNA evidence on body of victim, his shoes, etc.

Shaming parents for not knowing what their kids are doing.

Director of Investigations:
Fully support charges
Thoughts and prayers to the Bailey family.

Special Agent in Charge:
Detailing all the departments involved

State Attorney:
Video led to Fucci
DNA tests with results were done immediately
Keeping Fucci in jail until age 21 is not enough
Quit using social media to exploit the victim

Questions opened:
Never dealt with a crime with ages this young
Video shows them together often that night. Does not show the murder
Won't speak about confession, but Fucci had not confessed
Evening started out as kids hanging out.
Won't discuss if there was a sexual motive/assault
Case belongs in the adult system as there's nothing in juvenile court/rehab for the magnitude of type of crime
Sheriff will decide where Fucci will be held
Juveniles are kept separate from adults
Fucci has not shown remorse
Graham - Miller case says LWOP is too harsh for juveniles
Fucci was not under the influence at the time of the crime
Judge will decide where trial is held
Can't speak if they were romantic before that night
Fucci often said he was going to kill someone soon
No priors charges on Fucci

@gliving Thank you for transcribing this! Absolutely horrific! Poor Trystyn. I can’t even imagine.

How could someone like him not have a record? I wonder what else, if anything, he has gotten away with.

I wonder how his friends responded when he told them his plan.

OK he decided he was going to kill someone. Why? Just because? Why Tristyn? 114 times is some serious rage.

Woooo....this is so rough! Have any of you heard of anyone receiving 114 stab wounds? I’ve been into true crime the majority of my life. I’ve never heard that many times. I have a knife not much smaller than the one he’s allegedly purported to have. Holy cow. I’m stunned. I am so stunned.

The SA spoke of the weapon as a standard folding buck knife. It may be something like this IMO:

Standard Model 110 from Buck Knives:

Buck 55 Folding Hunter : A Small Knife With Big Possibilities
"... the blade on the 55 is 2 3/8,” and the knife is only 3 3/8” long closed. Compare this with the 110 having a blade that is 3 3/4” long and is 4 7/8” closed. But the …"

Yeah, no. 114 stab wounds isn’t a “oops I didn’t realize she would die if I stabbed her” situation.

Plus, I can’t really blame the kids for not saying anything. If when I was 14 another kid told me “I’m going to kill someone” I don’t think I would’ve thought the other kid was being serious, I would’ve just said “yeah, right... you’re funny “.

JUST IN: Statement from Tristyn Bailey family. "With the press conference sharing details of this heinous crime, the caring and love shown from the people and businesses to raise up the memory of Tristyn and the resolve of our community serve as a beacon of light in the darkness"

I’m not sure if I’d have told on a friend who said that or not. I remember 13-15. People said “I’m gonna kill him/her!” Hormones and puberty are raging. I would have *NEVER* thought someone would literally go through with it. Maybe if the person was disturbed, I would have said something. I’m just not sure. I was lucky enough to have good “normal” friends throughout school, so I don’t know how I would react. This is horrific. Absolutely horrific.

I really want to know if he was a problem child. Trouble at school? Juvenile record? Behavioural or mental issues?

Who just decides they want to kill someone and then it’s total overkill?

My brain is racing.

Thank you, @gliving. I didn't see the press conference but this has filled me in.

I'm speechless. IMO I was certain AF was without remorse and that his tweet about anyone seeing Tristyn was a chilling wink to his friends. I can't bear to think of her getting stabbed 114 times and part of the knife stuck in her skull! The incredible force that must have taken. He was determined to torture and kill her.

What was the part about shaming parents for not knowing what their kids are doing? Just AF's parents, right? Not TB's for not knowing she was out so late, I hope, because they are already going to regret that until they are in their graves.

114 stab wounds....49 defensive. Imagine how terrified Trysyn must have been. Imagine the first few times he stabbed her, imagine her confusion and shock . Imagine being attacked with a knife by someone you believed was your friend. Then imagine the sheer terror as she fought for her life.
He MUST spend the rest of his life locked away. No parole, no good boy points, nothing.
