OAK HILL, Fla. — Someone clearing brush in Oak Hill found part of a human skull, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

The discovery was made Monday evening in the area of Reed Grove Road near Daytona Beach.

Volusia County sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said the skull appears to have been there for some time. Investigators also found a human femur, officials said.

I did a quick search and there are a TON of missing people from that general area.

Does anyone know anymore about this skull found? If it's male or female and how long it's been there?

Hmmm. Well, I did find this:

[h=3]Human skeletal remains found in backyard of Volusia Co. home[/h]...They say it appears the skull has been there for a long time, but they would not speculate on how long.

I was looking for more information and I found this.

http://www.wftv.com/news/local/missing-persons-case-solved-29-years-later-in-volusia-county-deputies-say/488565876

Human bones discovered in 2015 helped solve a missing-persons case dating back to 1988, Volusia County deputies said on Friday. Bruno Van Bavel, who had Alzheimer’s disease, wandered away from his Oak Hill home on County Line Road and no one ever saw him again, deputies said.

Investigators believed the remains were those of Van Bavel, and a DNA sample from his son in South Florida later confirmed their suspicions.

RIP Bruno Van Bavel
