This is just the tip of the iceberg. When there’s a public outcry of the poor conditions, lack of funding, multiple deaths and horrid management, only then will things change. Nursing home care has notoriously been underfunded. The real definition of poverty is going to hit people slap in the face. Hopefully, it will no longer be a “political thing” to debate. People are poor. Businesses are poor. Life is lived precariously. It’s a human condition without a one size fits all solution.
Remember back to the Florida Foster Child system decades ago.... it took horrid crimes against children and apathy at the highest levels, inadequate funding, etc. before the court of public opinion crucified our leaders. Only then did things change and it’s still an imperfect system.
Bless these lovely old souls who’ve given so much over their lifetimes, only to be been forced to live without dignity and die alone. They don’t deserve this, no one does.
