What are the biscuits?
They were called Grands flaky biscuits in a can. I think Pillsbury makes them but I tossed the paper so I’m not 100% on that. They were in the food pick up and I would never have baked them. So I was trying to figure out something to make with the two chicken breasts.

I’ve been wanting Cracker Barrel chicken and dumplings for a couple weeks. I’d make this again but only 1 chicken breast instead. Lots of protein that’s for sure.

We make a version of beef / barley / mushroom soup from a recipe found in The Joy of Cooking. It includes Sherry as one of the ingredients. It is very good.
I haven't cooked with barley in so long. I think it was 2004 that partner got her Coeliac diagnosis. I remember liking it, I think. We afterwards used buckwheat in place of it in things, not so much these days because it's a FODMAP.

I thought that's what they were but wasn't sure. Your chicken & dumplings looks so comforting. Enjoy!

I usually like to make biscuits and rolls from scratch, but Grands biscuits are decent to use when I am short on time.

You can make a pretty good breakfast roll by sticking a Fun Size Milky Way bar in the middle of each biscuit then baking according to the package directions.

We use the frozen Grands Southern style biscuits. They are nothing like canned. Not bad at all.

That’s my favorite and I use those for biscuits and sausage gravy. It is really convenient to be able to put 2 in my toaster oven also.
