I thought the comment, "We're not talking to you." in the 911 recording said to have been John talking to Burke, could infer that he was in deep doo doo with them and was just another way of John saying, "Go to your room as you have been told to do and stay there until we tell you do otherwise..." Maybe not... but

I thought it was John Andrew who gave John the flashlight for Father's Day... and that it was John Andrew who owned a similar pair of high-tech boots...

He did, but the Ramseys said this flashlight was too dirty to be their's. That is the impression I got. Burke owned a pair of Hi-Tecs and they had compasses on the shoe laces. Patsy said she does not remember them. How does one forget buying their son hi-tec boots with compasses on the shoelaces.

I did not take it that way. I took it as Burke coming into the room and seeing how upset John and Patsy were as they just ran from his room (he did say they both ran into his room and John turned on the lights and saw he was okay and ran out and Patsy stayed there ringing her hands or something. I got the impression that he wanted to know what is going on?

I'm not 100% sure about the flashlight... I was pretty sure it was Burke.

I'm 100% sure Burke was found to have owned Hi-Tec shoes.

Both sound equally reasonable & they both still leave you asking.... why did Patsy & John say Burke was asleep & not downstairs at all?

I agree.

And why did they say JBR was asleep the night before and she was carried into the house when Burke said she walked into the house.

And why the lie about her jacket... where it was taken off and left...

Come to think of it Burke's intentional or unintentional honesty messed PR and JR up on multiple occasions...

Burke's finger prints on the bowl, when PR said she didn't recognize that bowl-

JBR walking in from the car-

and BR in the background of the 911 call-

Can you guys think of any other times Burke's involvement screwed up PR and JR's 'facts'???

Because they do not want him answering any questions whatsoever especially when the police arrived; they wanted him out of the house. They knew the police would get some kind of info out of him. What if he said I heard my Mom crying during the night- it woke me up. He told the Grand Jury he heard noises. Patsy probably washed down a handful of xanax with a huge glass of wine on that day (the GJ day).

But then why would Burke say "what did you find". If he was in deep trouble, he would not say what did you find?

But then why would Burke say "what did you find". If he was in deep trouble, he would not say what did you find?

Are they positive that is what he said? That question always bothered me...

"What did you find?"

Why would he ask that?

'Have you found JonBenet... or Have your found her'?

"What" did you find, sounds as if his parents told him they were looking for something instead it being a person missing.

I don't know. For a 9 year old to be awakened by the lights coming on and his parents looking into his room to see if he was there and ok...and then for him to ask, "What did you find?" is just odd to me...

The trajectory of the head blow appears to me over the top of the head, not head striking backwards.

Even Patsy wouldn't be stupid enough to run upstairs & tell Burke she just wrote a swell ransom note & she'd be 'finding' it the next morning. lol

Well, Jayce; anything to say?

I think he came downstairs & overheard Patsy telling 911 that she "found" the _________.

And he couldn't hear the last word.

Now that makes sense... Thank you LI_Mom. :)

Whilst I am firmly RDI (because the alternative makes no sense) I am not sure exactly who and how. One theory I read (and it may have been here on the theories thread) suggested that perhaps John had accidentally caused the head injury. He knows that Patsy won't cover for him and so he fabricates a story for her that Burke has caused this massive injury. "We need to protect Burke - Patsy, we need to make this look like someone else did this".

Patsy agrees and is coerced/managed by John into doing most of the coverup. That way, if she gets suspicious, he can point out that she is the one framed by the evidence.

I'm not totally convinced of this but for me it does explain Patsy's behaviour in TV interviews and so on - she seemed to be very selfrighteous in her denials. If she felt that she was lying for the greater good - to protect Burke - she may have felt utterly justified in her attitude.

My pleasure.

Or he could have thought they found something of HIS that he wasn't supposed to have & thought he was in big trouble?

But I think the 1st scenario might fit the circumstances better since we know his father is standing there in his underwear & his mother is on the phone.

Welcome, Tina.

She certainly came off as being arrogant & SO angry that investigators would dare treat her the way they treat less important 'victims.'

Has anyone ever questioned that there were multiple people screaming from Dec 25 through Dec 26th and the same people did not hear all of the screams...Even the ones inside their own home...

The neighbors nextdoor reported hearing a scream on the night of the 25th, but the R's, inside their own home didn't hear it.

From the main floor of the home, PR screams the early morning on the 26th and only JR hears it 2 floors up above her. (Burke, one floor closer to the scream and the neighbors nextdoor do not mention this scream.)

Fleet White screams to call an ambulance coming up from the basement when JBR is located and reportedly he is heard by everyone on the next floor up.

Then it this scream gets twisted up in the interview w/BPD and JR-
JR in his interview w/BPD is asked when he finds JBR about he and PR previously talking about his (JR's) screaming. (Maybe it was just messed up in the transcribing from audio tape...as it seems the tape on the "leg" was also... It seems to have been lips, but was transcribed as legs in 1st sentence and then correctly as lips in 2nd sentence...)

TT: John, again I’m not sure if I got the sequence right. You talked about you screamed out also, and Patsy talked about that too. Does that mean when you first went in through the door.
JR: No, this was when I was carrying her upstairs, as I came out of the door, I just remember him screaming.

You scream, I scream,
We all scream for....

pineapple.

LOL LI_Mom - I hope our two resident fruitcake posters don't see your comment or they'll be like 'hey, yeah - everyone was screming for....wait for it ...pineapple! Yeah!'

I think my laughing days with those two are OVER....

Anyway - I think Burke hears commotion, etc. comes downstairs, knows something has been found & asks what the heck they're going on about - the issue is that the ramseys lied about him being awake. It's also strange they would send him back to bed to 'stay put' until someone gets him- if you think your daughter has been taken from your home under your noses & you're being 'monitored' I'd keep my son by my side & try to explain as gently as possible what the situation is....
