If so, and if there was indeed blood on a planter/flower pot, the anger about the pic. might be understandable.....

I would like to know, what the flower planter could have had to do with Emile, if his body possibly was stored in a fridgerator for some time, being sterile (!!), until it was staged at the last location. Well, there was blood found on the planter, but why?

The investigation into the disappearance and death of French toddler Émile Soleil may be taking a new turn. According to the regional newspaper “La Provence,” investigators are calling into question the testimony of the two witnesses who allegedly were the last to see the toddler.

They are two neighbors of Philippe and Anne Vedovini, Émile's grandparents, with whom the toddler was staying when he disappeared July 8, 2023, in Haut-Vernet. That is a hamlet in the French department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence with about 30 inhabitants.

The two witnesses told police during their initial questioning that they had seen the toddler walking in the main street of the hamlet between 4:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. that day. According to one of the witnesses, Philippe was chopping wood at that time, not far away from the toddler. “I saw no cause for concern,” the witness told French news channel BFMTV in 2023. At 5:15 p.m., Émile's grandparents sounded the alarm.

Investigators are now questioning their statements. Indeed, the two contradict each other. According to one, Émile walked in a different direction than the other.

Moreover, according to investigators, it is possible that the witnesses mistook Émile for another child, writes La Provence. Indeed, it had been a year since his previous vacation in the village that neighbors had seen the toddler. Authorities are therefore not ruling out the possibility of confusion. Yeah, no. I do not think it went that way.

I agree, but my thoughts are: Emile's parents just had brought him to his grandparents. Why should anyone, ie the grandpa, have had so much anger towards the little boy already then, when Emile so-to-say just had arrived?

With all due respect, sometimes it doesn’t take much to get someone to ‘turn’. A spilled drink, a ‘bad’ word, etc etc, unfortunately I bear the scars of such behaviour through actions such as these so I’m aware that it often doesn’t take very much at all

It's all normal behaviour for a toddler but for a strict aurhoritarian adult that is infuriating. Also, abusers do not need any distinct reason to abuse. Often a bout of bad mood is enough and often the acts of abuse are displays of power.
