GUILTY France, Dominique Pélicot, drugged wife of 50 years nightly, filmed rape by at least 51 men, 2011-2020

  • #481

They are young, old, burly, thin, black and white. Among them are firefighters, lorry drivers, soldiers, security guards, a journalist and a DJ.

These are the 50 men accused of raping Gisèle Pelicot at the behest of her husband, Dominique Pelicot, 72, who drugged her for a decade with prescription sleeping pills.

The fact they broadly represent a microcosm of French society means they have been dubbed Monsieur-Tout-Le-Monde (Mr Everyman).

Next week they are due to be sentenced, at the end of a trial that started in September. If found guilty, collectively they face more than 600 years in jail.

I noticed that quite a number of them are either retired or unemployed. Too much spare time.

Nice try.
According to the post just above yours:
"They are young, old, burly, thin, black and white. Among them are firefighters, lorry drivers, soldiers, security guards, a journalist and a DJ.

I imagine, unfortunately, that the defining factor is that they are men. Tho of course not all men do similar!! Equally not all retirees or unemployed people do similar, particularly not the women among them, I imagine. Or have women been caught upskirting other women or trans people in large numbers, or at all??

In fact in this long article ‘A rapist can be in the family’: how Dominique Pelicot became one of the worst sexual predators in history M.Pelicot is quoted (he) 'filmed up women’s skirts at the supermarket because his wife was away and he’d had an “urge” '. He was a pensioner at the time but it was his "urge" due to his wife being away that sent him upskirting, not his spare time. Please don't tell me that sexual urges spring up due to too much spare time.

I think the defining factor is very important - because that is why Gisèle went public with this! She gave up her anonymity so that people would know about how wide-spread rape is. I don't know if she knew in advance all the excuses her rapists would come up with, but they have been enlightening too.

MOO IMO

"My body raped her, but my brain didn't" said one. Yeah, sure. Because he hasn't even got a brain. Have we heard the "it was my twin brother" excuse yet? And "my other split personality"? And "he made me do it"? What a bunch of stupid, criminal, so-called "men". I spit on them all.

"He gave me permission"

I wonder how men would feel if their rights were taken away as it was assumed that the wife owned them and could do what they liked with them.

Yeah, but the thing about the justice system, we don't prosecute people for things they think about, only for things they actually do.

So, Monsieur Rapist, consider your brain free, but your body is probably going to prison.

Were any additional charges put upon any of the men after the trial started? For example, didn't they learn in defendant testimony that at least one of the men had done the same to his own wife after having raped Mme Pelicot? And was there another one who at least drugged, possibly sexually assaulted another family member too? I can't get over how many men there were in this small area willing to do these things! Maybe it's an anomaly, or maybe this is the way it is everywhere, but we normally just don't know about it. Scary thought.

It's nice to think it might be an anomaly, but I doubt it. Not just for France but for the whole of Europe, not to mention elsewhere.

Yes, I'm pretty pessimistic.

I agree. Sadly. I've just lost so much faith in humanity over the last few years...

As early as 2013, French NGOs had identified Coco as a threat, calling on the government and internet service providers to shut down the website with no success. Approached for comment, the French interior ministry referred CNN back to the prosecutor handling the case. The prosecutor said the regulation of websites like Coco is a responsibility assumed by the platforms themselves. French internet service provider Bouygues told CNN that it would need either a court order or injunction from French authorities to be able to shut down a website like Coco.

These are the first images from the messaging boards we have seen.

He is a monster.

Do we have a final number on just how many of the men went on to drug/rape/offer up their partners (or mothers) for assault?

Good Lord! I am truly at a loss for words almost on this one. He is one of the sickest and vilest men I have probably ever heard of. A man is supposed to love and to protect his wife. The audacity of this man to claim to love his wife and then to drug her by placing meds into her dinner and then soliciting men to come into their home and to further allow them to take advantage of his wife how disgusting? I feel so sorry for this lady, and I will pray for her to heal and to have a normal future. This man has a special seat in Hell for what he allowed to happen to his wife. And 20 years is nothing but a slap on the wrist for this type of craziness.

I honestly don't understand how the poor wife wasn't poisoned by all these drugs?
The sheer number of pills he pumped into her is mind blowing.
Did he make her an addict?
Can she sleep without pills?

As far as I know doctors warn against perils of sleeping pills.
They should be taken only as emergency and for a short time as they are addictive and tolerance of an organism increases.

And yet,
he was giving her these drugs at least 3 times a week lately.

I'm absolutely disgusted by this horrific case.

Justice for Gisele!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if she is afraid to go to sleep now.

And I hope she is under the wings of a therapist b/c,
let's be honest,
such revelations can mess with a person's mind.
It is simply too much to comprehend.

And her poor children :(
Their lives are shattered.
Lots of therapies are needed IMO.

But I guess
it won't be a problem in France.
