GUILTY France, Dominique Pélicot, drugged wife of 50 years nightly, filmed rape by at least 51 men, 2011-2020

Does anyone remember seeing the quote about how her gynecologist just gave her a "wink, wink" kinda reaction along the lines of "well, look how wild you are at your age, having so much sex to have infections" and possibly inferring (and condoning) that her husband was having affairs and passing the infections along to her?

Disgusting!
In case of such diseases the partner is always checked too.
Was he???
It is how therapies are done.

The truth should have been disclosed then.

I honestly don't understand all this.

Bringing forward source about victim seeing doctors before the truth came out. Although it doesn't specify she was tested for STIs by the gyno, I would hope so? Unless she contracted them after seeing gyno..

"...
Dominique P also forbade the men from wearing condoms, causing his wife to suffer gynaecological problems. When she sought treatment, her doctor asked her, with a knowing smile: 'What do you and your husband do all day?'
...
Noticing that she was frequently forgetful and slurred her words on the phone, her children urged her to see three neurologists during the ten years of abuse, but they found nothing wrong with her."

from a post above: "the couple's eldest daughter was also filmed unconscious in her underwear"

Did he drug his daughter as well???
She said it wasn't her underwear, so someone must have dressed her in it. Obviously her revolting father and/or his cohorts.

The physicians probably didn’t put two and two together and figure it out because it is unimaginable that a husband would drug his wife and allow/encourage men to rape her. It’s just not something a doctor would even think of as the cause of her illnesses IMO.
Plus he probably acted the caring and worried husband when he gently took her to the doctors.

I have an idea - can we start calling vomit bowls "the Dominique Pelicot"?

I think that this is the most horrendous case I've seen in a long, long time. I can't fathom how a husband could do this to his wife. I hope he gets the maximum sentence possible along with the rapists.

Don't forget he's got a murder trial coming up.

As the owner of the nearest place to the court where you can get a decent coffee, Youssef is used to serving some unsavoury characters. Yet he has found the past ten weeks singularly unsettling.

“Frankly, they give me goosebumps,” he said, describing how most days the same five defendants converged on his café, for morning espressos and lunchtime beers. With so many men taking the stand, it became necessary to split them into groups for cross-examination, causing unlikely cliques to form

“I try not to listen to them, but when I do, all I hear is, ‘Yes, OK, we had sex with her, but we’re not rapists’. Sometimes I feel like recording them,” Youssef said. “I’ve asked them, can you imagine if your wife drugged you and invited men round? They didn’t answer me.”

Did they get her consent? No. So they are rapists.

100%.
Consent is an enthusiastic YES!
Sleeping persons cannot consent.
Intoxicated persons cannot consent.
And so on.

Monsters. All of them.

Has this been shared? It’s an article about the destruction he’s caused to his family.

In stifled sobs and fierce accusations, family falls apart at mass rape trial

Warning: This story contains details some readers may find disturbing

"Monster of Avignon

should be jailed for 20-years

over mass rape of wife Gisele Pelicot,

French prosecutors demand

as they admit maximum available sentence is

'too little'."

20 years maximum makes me sick. I truly hope he gets every day of it, and maybe misbehaves in prison so more time gets added on.

He is 71.
He will probably die in prison.

MOO, It just feels like an insanely low punishment for such deep depravity—a methodically executed, furtive/covert, sustained orchestrated mass sexual abuse of the woman who married him and bore his children. The enormity is difficult to comprehend.
Imagine if he were 25, and would be getting out at 45… ? Maybe paroled even earlier?

What a loathesome, disgusting animal he is.There is simply no punishment sufficient for him. Not enough punishment in the world for that guy.

Wtf?

One of the defendants, Jean-Pierre Maréchal, 63, has become known as Dominique’s “disciple”, having drugged his own wife and raped or attempted to rape her at least a dozen times with Dominique between 2015 and 2020.

Maréchal’s wife told investigators that she did not want to press charges as a civil complainant against Dominique or her husband, the father of her five teenage and adult children, because he had always been a good father and husband. She said that she was very shocked and had difficulty attributing the facts of the case to him.

Seems the bar is pretty low for what constitutes a “good father and husband”.
Cognitive dissonance is alive and well in this case.

he said on the stand that he didn't and his daughter called him a liar in court
he also had pictures of his daughters-in-law and unsupervised access to his grandchildren

I wonder, why no physician got an idea, why poor Giselle may have suffered from her many symptoms of illness.

I just don't think they would imagine something like this
I sure wouldn't
but now with this case, more people will be aware and alert to the possibility
