The physicians probably didn’t put two and two together and figure it out because it is unimaginable that a husband would drug his wife and allow/encourage men to rape her. It’s just not something a doctor would even think of as the cause of her illnesses IMO.

To what Dotta? They could see her Illnesses and symptoms, but why would this particular cause even enter their minds? It was unheard of (until now). And of course, Giselle didn’t know she was being raped, so she couldn’t give accurate information to her doctor. He set her up. He KNEW she would not be interested in threesomes or swinging. It's not as if his wife was a new girlfriend he was getting to know and testing boundaries - he knew his wife and knew she would turn that idea down. He asked to her in the first place to humiliate her and then he gave himself the excuse to punish her without her knowledge.

But, really, I think it was punishment for the affair she had decades ago. Probably more to it than that, I realize, but the kernel of resentment about that affair is there, imo.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had been doing sneaky stuff to her ever since the affair. Maybe not have men rape her, but other things that degraded her whether she knew it or not.
