Was.. In Hormuz & then Pacific fleet. Then he did BS in business. He steadfastly refused to use the military time as a step-up for job. Now he's scrambling, trying to avoid defense contractors. No win solution.

Why avoid defense contractors? People I know work for them and do very well.

Remember back when there were reports of young American girls going to Syria. Enticed online. I wonder what has happened to them. I can only imagine.

Did you read the article about the Yazidi women? I imagine any young women who went over met the same fate. Held against their will, raped, abused, murdered, buried in a mass grave. Horrifying to think about.

AA after attacks before raid. (forewarned, avert eyes if a perp sans pants is a problem, but it's worth watching)

That was an excellent article, thanks. But, be forewarned, there was a graphic part or two.

Yes indeed. Including the pantless male terrorist that police dragged down the street

CNN reporter suspended after tweet on refugees

"House passes bill that could limit Syrian refugees. Statue of Liberty bows head in anguish," she wrote, linking to a CNN article on the vote.

And this is precisely why "journalists" and the media are not trusted. Bias much????????????? Journalism is about the facts not personal opinions FFS. The fact that journalists don't get/ascribe to their own professional responsibilities never ceases to amaze me

It does seem ISIS wants boots on the ground. Will the air strikes be enough? I hate to think of sending troops in but.......thoughts?

:scared::gaah::tantrum:

I have this overwhelming urge to turn all the lights off, unplug the tv, stick my fingers in my ears whilst lala-ing the tune of Dad's Army.

I love reading all your posts. I'm definitely not politically minded. And I'd probably get told off and mod snipped if I did rant my views. Lol.

Desperately heartbroken for all who have lost their lives, loved ones, injured. In ALL acts of Terrorism this last week.

It's beyond me how these ****s can enrole maybe a disenchanted 'child' for want of a better description, and then to convince them to 'blow themselves to smithereens' it's self I should imagine is horrific enough to witness. Let alone anything else.
Life doesn't hand you a silver spoon. You are what you make of yourself. Just because the majority of us work hard pay bills and enjoy our 'off' time with friends or family. Just because we hit an all time low through redundancy or loss of a parent or loved one doesn't make us join a Terrorist Group.
I really really struggle of late to comprehend such savagery that we left in ancient times. To live more democratically more peacefully. In this day and age.

Smdh with tears rolling down ones cheeks. :tantrum:

Definitely not. I'm not sure why we got involved in Syria in the first place; it wasn't our fight, was it?

No and I agree. Yet how do we win this? Or will we ever. Sigh......

I'm ashamed to say I loved it,:drumroll: somewhat ashamed :blushing:

Bloomberg Poll: Most Americans Oppose Syrian Refugee Resettlement

Americans agree with Republican presidential candidates on refugees, but are divided on whether to send U.S. troops to Iraq and Syria to fight the Islamic State, according to the poll.

Hi Trident, thanks for the link. Gotta say it is a little disturbing to see that 11%, this is a country founded on the First Amendment, which just so happens to be my favorite amendment.

imo, air strikes will not be enough. I hate to think of sending troops in too but it would be needed to secure certain areas, etc...Isis knows air strikes aren't enough as well. P
