I just finished reading the versions in the French newspaper, Le Figaro: Veronique admitted to police that she, indeed, is the mother of the two frozen babies. According to her admission, one child was born in 2002 and the other in 2003. She underwent a hysterectomy in 2003 - and it was tissue from that procedure which was used, along with her hair sample, to identify her as the biological mother.

Veronique is said to be "short" and rather "plump" for a Frenchwoman - so maybe her "girth" is what helped her conceal her two consecutive pregnancies. She also said the reason the bodies were in the refrigerator was because she hid them there during a "power outage". According to Veronique's admission, both children - boys - were strangled shortly after their births.

As for the the first murdered child, she admits to giving birth in 1999. This child was also strangled - but she kept the body for a short time and then burned it in the fireplace of the home she shared with her husband and two daughters. Gender of the child was not mentioned in the French article.

The article also stated that she's been on "medication" for sometime - and that she has not expressed any remorse for the crimes to which she's admitted during the questioning.

The husband, Jean-Luis, is totally dumfounded. There also seems to be some "question" as to the state-of-the-marriage as his credit cards and phone bills contain purchases for "women" as well as calls to "women."

The French are not cooperating with the Koreans as they state they have "no documentation" to substantiate any crime was committed in Korea. Essentially, they are waiting for "translations" of the DNA testing.

The Courjault's refuse to return to Korea as they maintain they could not "defend themselves" in that country.

A French court has convicted a woman of murdering three of her newborn children and sentenced her to eight years in prison.

In France, murder charges carry a maximum penalty of life in prison. But the prosecutor had recommended Courjault be given a 10-year prison sentence. She will only serve around five years of her sentence because she had been in custody during the investigation.
