Show me the statistics of a white baby gunned down at random by two black kids during daylight hours while in a stroller- in a low crime neighborhood.

What about the 6 month old baby that was shot and murdered just the other day? I don't know if she was in a stroller or not, oh yes I do she was in her father's arms.

I live in a high crime area but a low crime neighborhood. Often only one or two streets separate the two but there is a distinct difference so you can't generalize by map.

I think I will log off and get some shut eye. I feel we digress.

Freeman said Elkins was at her home at the time of the shooting.

"I am 100 percent positive that De'Marquise Elkins was not at that crime scene. He was at my residence."

I don't think it sounds like she actually saw him there at the time because she gives a percentage of possibility first. If she absolutely knew she would just state so and tell us she was there to see it, not give an estimate of perceived probability.

Wow.

I think that's generalizing in an ugly direction.

Trust me not trying to be Ugly. Just the facts. And I hate the facts. Would that they were different.

Baby was bi-racial... not debating just saying.
Mom white
Dad Afro American

I lived in the same situation, but those safe neighborhoods eventually turn into unsafe neighborhoods. I lived in fear the entire time I lived there and couldn't wait to leave. There is nothing stopping those meth dealers a block away from going for a stroll down the street and deciding your toddler looked at them wrong and shooting them.

I will wait for the rest of the story to come out before I have a strong opinion but the crime rate in the area is too high for me to even drive through. I avoid crime like my life depends in it.

Wish we knew the 3 locations of the search warrants. I can speculate:

1) 17 yr old's house (or where he stays)
2) 14 yr old's house
3) 17 yr old's aunt's house

or any given "hangout" for these 2. Two locations I get - each one's house. Its the third that has me intrigued.

Ok Peeps!

Seems the discussion is getting a little to heated.

Stop! Now!

The murdered toddler is a victim. His mom and dad are victims. End of story.

I'll be back in awhile. If this bickering continues, I'll lock the thread.

thanks,
fran

The studies I'm finding link crime rates to socio-economics, not skin color.

KNOCK IT OFF IN HERE.

Fran has warned that mom is considered a victim, so post accordingly. Pay attention to Fran's posts here or you will lose posting privileges.

The bickering is not necessary and neither is the discussion of race. Let it go and move on.

Okay peeps - explain to me now what the heck this has to do with anything??

I'm not getting it.

Not directed specifically at you gngr - but at all the posters involved in this conversation.

What does this have to do with anything? What?

I'm also wondering about the motive. LE has said they are still trying to get to a motive - yet mom says it was a robbery (they wanted her money). I'm wondering if it was mom's meds they wanted. IN NO WAY AM I SAYING MOM WAS SELLING AND DISTRIBUTING ANYTHING!!!! Its just, years ago, the couple that lived down the street from us - the wife was dying with terminal cancer - she had everything including morphine lollipops and all the "good hard stuff". Her husband was always very cautious and very concerned that people would find out and then try to rob them (of the meds). So, could one of these guys (17 yr old prob) have found out that mom had some "good stuff" and he decided he would rob her for it?
