I live here in Covington, and we are all just heartbroken. Emotions are running high. If that so-called father shows his face around here he should fear for his life, seriously. People are ANGRY. Sad, upset, shocked. As for myself, I have felt sick at my stomach ever since I heard they found her little body. It's just hard to believe something like this could happen in this town I grew up in and have lived 55 years. You can bet that strangers from all walks of life will come to her memorial service if we are allowed. She won't be forgotten.

I blame this on drugs

PS: Surely they will take the two year old baby away!?

I am. Wondering if the facial tattoos might have been received in prison against his will. He doesn’t seem to have any familial support system. I noticed that there were no violent crimes in his past either. Please understand I am not delusional enough to think he is a Boy Scout. What job skills does he have besides theft?

I do have some questions about Mom's parenting skills, if she put a newborn infant into a tiny room with a 2 yr old to sleep. That endangers the infant because 2 yr olds are not very cautious or well coordinated or very patient. So many things can go wrong with that scenario.

It just seems kind of unusual for the mother of a tiny newborn baby to make that decision. Usually one keeps a tiny newborn very close, maybe in a baby bassinet/basket , by one's bed, for the first 2 months or so.

I think the whole story was made up. She might not have ever slept in the room with the 2 y/o.

This is one really difficult situation and I couldn't help but think as I laid in bed last night unable to sleep how many nights Medical Examiner's must lose sleep after working on the death of a child. It must be so heartbreaking for that office to get through it.
If I recall correctly I can absolutely remember Ron Cummings also professing his innocence, but in his case I actually think he is because that case is all on Misty Croslin and her dysfunctional group of people she was surrounded by.

I'm sad that this baby didn't get to live a life and at the same time I'm glad she was found so quickly. To me IMO this is a inside job and when details of the autopsy come out they will be closer to finding out how that little girl wound up in the woods so close to home dead!:waiting::waiting:

Autopsy results are supposed to be available this morning. How did this poor angel die?

I have had the same thoughts about those handeling the autopsy. There have been quite a number child murder cases in Georgia lately. The Romero family killings a few months ago were only about 30 minutes away from Covington. It completely shook the area and those who responded. It is heartbreaking to see more and more of these types of crimes over the past few decades.

There is also NO WAY a 2 year old moved her body to the woods and left her there. All of this is complete hogwash.

He looks really bulked up in the second to last picture!

Might have been an in custody pic. Time to eat and work out.

My granddaughter is a young NICU R.N., and more than once she has nursed very ill babies back to health only to see them go home with less than capable parents. God bless this child. Heartbreaking.

I haven’t heard anything about the results but the 911 call was released.

I was just about to post the same thing... I mean, I can’t even!!! She sounds pretty darn calm to me and just faking the rest. What’s with yelling out a 9day olds name? Like she’s going to come running in the room or yell “I’m here!!”?

First she says something about her 2yr old saying “papa” (as in grandpa) took the baby and then she says the 2yr old said “someone” took her. This call screams BS to me. I even feel like the 911 operator smells BS too. If my kid says someone took baby I’d be screaming and hysterical... not like oh okay cool cops are on the way I’ll be patient.

If he’s yelling I didn’t do it, after hearing this I’m inclined to believe she had something to do with it and he just helped dispose. Ugh I hated typing that....

Let me tell you, one time, I was in the shower, came downstairs and I had left the door to my backyard open for my dog to go in and out (she's very trustworthy) and I couldn't find her for a few minutes... I freaked out, got myself so panicked I was crying.. after a few minutes she came out from behind the bushes with a dirty old tennis ball she had obviously been trying to find. Anyway... point is... I was more hysterical of my dog being missing in a garden that she cannot possible get out of and a gate with an alarm on so people can't get in, than she sounded about that baby.

She also said "Last time I woke up with her" seems weird.. as if she is saying she was awake at a later time but trying to make the point that she didn't see her since 5am.

Also she's shouting "Caliyah!" ... what does she think will happen??? The two week old baby to yell back.. "Here Mama!" ?? WTF.

Also, the two year old woke them up?!!! How nice, so THEY didn't even go to check on their little babies... either that or it's so convenient that they didn't wake up not even once. They were so sound asleep even with a two year old and a two week old that the two year old had to wake them up.

What did she mean when she said she isn't in her sleeper? Her sleeper is here. Is she talking about clothing? I live in GA and that's what we call a long-sleeved onesie. Why would she be out of her clothing? Maybe she means some type of crib, but I've never heard them referred to as a sleeper.

Does she say she woke on the couch?
