As usual, all the pundits on CTV were wrong. They look at cases through lawyer eyes and not plain everyday citizen eyes.

She took her earrings off and gave them to (I'm assuming) her attorney.
No tears so far, she's very stoic. She's been hard to read the whole trial, though, pretty much. She really looks like she's aged in the past few weeks.
Sentencing will be second week of December.
IMO I'm honestly surprised at the verdict.

Seriously tragic family tale. No winners. (ETA: But, justice for Gary)

She took her earrings off but not much emotion. She did put he hands to her face. Reporter said while on bond she was staying with Amanda but lately she had been staying with a friend. And while on lunch break the reporter saw who he now knows was the jury foreman was pacing outside. News conference at 5pm

I don't normally watch CTV, too much talking head gibberish but I'm watching it now and it is apparent that they are surprised at the guilty verdict. I'm curious what L&C has to say

While waiting for the jury to come in, I saw just Scott and a woman with him. I hope he has found some joy in his life. Was anyone else there??

#MelodyFarris stands for the jury as the verdict is read…something she didn’t do during the trial.
Their decision:
GUILTY of malice murder, felony murder, concealing a death, making a false statement & aggravated assault.

Earlier post, as verdict was already read. Interesting that Scott and Chris were there.
I believe Matt Johnson's been in the courtroom daily.

#VERDICT in the #BurnPileMurder Trial.

#MelodyFarris is sitting quietly.

The Farris Family including Scott and Chris are in the gallery seated in front of me.
Verdict should be read as soon as all parties, witnesses and ALT jurors arrive.

Matt Johnson said Scott started wailing, bent over, sobbing uncontrollably. He said Chris looked at his brother and started crying too, but nothing like Scott.

I heard MWF considered the jury "her peers" and opted not to stand for them. Did I miss this stated in court?

Scott looked broken. She did give up her earrings [as someone mentioned]. But, what about wedding rings, apparently she wasn’t wearing the ring(s)? Did she assume she’s be found guilty? At the time, she was being handcuffed it looked like her youngest daughter just arrived. jmo

What I heard was that MWF felt the jurors are her peers and she [MWF] didn't need to show them [jury] respect.

I have to say that I was quite surprised with a guilty verdict even though my personal opinion was leaning towards guilty. I felt the defense gave every opportunity for reasonable doubt and thought the jury would be hung or deliver not guilty as their verdict. I was so wrong on my thoughts with the jury.

One thing though, this family is so broken and shattered right now and I have to wonder if they will ever really recover and heal from Gary’s murder and now MF guilt. So tragic for everyone.

Also, excellent discussions here regarding both sides throughout the trial. Thanks for sharing!

Her attorney explained it in his closing arguments. He said he instructed her to sit as it was a jury of her peers.
