I got the same number 2x from information. I was trying to get the address of the Jacksonville Sheriff's office, but the number given to me just rings and rings!
I then called information for the Jax Police Station, and THAT number just rings and rings.

ATLANTA — The House took another stab Tuesday at limiting where sex offenders can live and work, passing a proposal to fix a part of the law the Georgia Supreme Court struck down as unconstitutional.
But lawmakers refused to address other portions of the law that critics say renders vast residential areas of the state off-limits to sex offenders.
The House's 141-29 vote aims to a fix a law adopted in 2005 banning sex offenders from living, working or loitering within 1,000 feet of just about anywhere children gather — schools, churches, parks, gyms, swimming pools or one of the state's 150,000 school bus stops.
In November the state's high court overturned portions of the law, ruling that it failed to protect the property rights of offenders who could be forced to move if a facility catering to children pops up near their home.
House Republican leaders quickly vowed to retool the measure in hopes of answering the court's concerns. The proposal approved Tuesday would allow a sex offender who owns his or her home to stay there if a center where children gather later opens up nearby. It carves out a similar exception for sex offenders who work near such a center.
"This really comes down to: 'Do you really want to reinstate residency restrictions in Georgia?"' said state Rep. David Ralston, a Blue Ridge Republican who sponsored the bill. "That's kind of what it's about. That's as simple as I can put it to you."
But the measure adopted Tuesday failed to address other challenges to the law that was supposed to go into effect in July 2006.
A federal judge initially delayed its enforcement by ruling that the school bus stop provision could not be enforced unless school boards officially designated them. Few boards have since done so.
That lawsuit is still pending, along with another challenge against a provision that could evict offenders who live near churches. And critics, including state Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan, have promised the legal challenges will continue if the concerns are not addressed.
"We need to make some changes to this law. It's time for us to take responsibility for our laws that we pass in this body and stop relying on the Supreme Court or others to fix the laws," said Morgan, D-Austell. "We're moving in the wrong direction."
Other critics, including the Southern Center for Human Rights, argued that it could backfire by encouraging offenders to stop reporting their whereabouts to authorities and that it would prove too costly for authorities to enforce.
But Ralston said the measure is focused on one goal: Protecting Georgia's children.

Today marks the 11th month since Christopher was abducted and sexually assaulted by 2 perverted sick freaks. A father and his retarded son. I cannot imagine that his family's pain is any less than it was when he was missing.
Christopher's family...his father, mother, grandmother, step-mom, siblings, cousins, aunts and uncles ALL have to remember what happened to him for the rest of their lives. And these sick punks still get to sit in jail, on Georgia's money, eating 3 meals a day and getting showers. This is justice?
This is only the beginning of Hell for them.
IMHO, anyone that does any harm to a child should never be allowed to roam the earth with humans, ever again.

The DA's assistant said they are waiting to receive the evaluation report on Dale. And being that this is a death penalty case it could take as long as till the end of this year for George and David's cases to begin because with the DP there are many motions to go through and each motion must be answered. If I remember correctly there were somewhere like 80 motions filed back in November?
I asked her if Peggy's would begin first since she pleaded out for a lesser charge to testify against the other creeps. Since she isn't up for the DP it shouldn't take long, correct? Ms. Horne, the assistant, said Mr. Kelly did not mention it to her.
I wanted to ask Ms. Horne if the DA is keeping up with what is going on with Dale, since it was said if he doesn't go to trial by March 15th he could be released. But I let it go. I will wait until the first week of March or so and call again and ask that question.

The Edenfreak's will eventually pay for their behavior here on earth, I doubt that they get the death penalty. We have to many sick judges in this USA. But they will spend considerable amount of time in jail. They may even get life sentences.
But I am more interested on their meeting their maker. All three, father and mother as well as son, will spend a long time in Hell.

A basket full of Easter eggs, a ceramic Santa Claus and dozens of plush toys lie withered and molded beneath a large wooden shrine on Canal Road in north Glynn County.
Each symbolizes a holiday that has passed without 6-year-old Christopher Michael Barrios the elementary school student who was allegedly abducted and killed March 8, 2007, by three adults who lived down the street from him on Horseshoe Lane in north Glynn County.
Friday will mark the one year anniversary of the disappearance of Christopher and the search it triggered that made national headlines while bringing a community together in hope and prayer. It was the beginning of a six-day hunt that concluded with a disheartening discovery.
Sam Wood, who helped search for the C.*. Greer student with other volunteers, constructed the memorial in the very spot where Christopher Barrios' body was found wrapped in a black plastic trash bag on the side of Canal Road on March 14, 2007. A wooden cross and flowers also mark the area.
Memories of the child's abduction and murder remain in the minds of those who helped police scan the woods and grounds around Canal Road Trailer Park where Christopher resided in a mobile home with his father, Michael, and step-family for almost a week.
"I think we still feel the loss of his presence," said Wood, who lives at 681 Canal Road, across the street from Horseshoe Lane, where Christopher was allegedly abducted, molested and strangled.
"This neighborhood will never be the same."
He's right. A lot has changed since two rangers with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources found Christopher's lifeless body behind the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport.
The dirt parking lot at 700 Canal Road, where volunteers gathered to pray and organize searches for Barrios, is now paved with concrete and is the site of a business, Canal Road Self Storage.
The mobile home where the child was allegedly murdered, 121 Horseshoe Lane, has been removed from the Canal Road Trailer Park.
The three family members accused of the crime David Edenfield, his wife, Peggy, and the couple's son, George remain in jail. David Edenfield and George Edenfield face the death penalty. Peggy Edenfield, who has agreed to testify against her spouse and son in exchange for her life, faces life in prison.
The man accused of helping to hide the body, Donald Dale, may soon reach a plea agreement with the state. A friend of the family, Dale was originally charged with tampering with evidence and helping to hide the body. He could have faced up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
The state agreed to drop those charges against him in exchange for a guilty but retarded plea and a plea to one count of lying to police. The plea bargain is pending the results of a mental health evaluation. If approved, Dale would be sent to a mental health facility instead of prison for five years.
"He's still in jail, but we're working towards getting his portion of this case resolved," said Dale's attorney, John Wetzler, Friday. "He's completed the mental evaluation and hopefully the rest of his case will be dealt with fairly quickly."
No trial dates have been set for any of the Edenfields, whose defense attorneys are held up by the lack of indigent defense funding that's plaguing the whole state.
Stephen Kelley, district attorney of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit, said it is frustrating.
"We're waiting to see what the legislature does as far as the funding issue because right now the defense lawyers can't hire their own experts," he said. "We're hoping the legislature will get things resolved soon so we can get these cases tried as soon as possible."
While Kelley is waiting, Sam Wood is thinking about what to do with the memorial on Canal Road. He might dismantle it, though it's nothing definite yet.
"I've been thinking I might take (the memorial) down," Wood told The News on Friday. "I've heard it bothers some of the children who still live around here. It is a constant reminder that one of their friends was murdered."
He doesn't like thinking that the memorial might bring pain to some, but if he takes it down, he would want to replace it with something else something that would keep the memory of Christopher Michael Barrios alive.

this is one of the worst cases i have ever heard about. for those that dont know the details george got little chrisopher into the house where peggy and david are. david and george both rape the child while peggy admited to police she watched and masturbated. they then killed the child and while david went with a friend named dale to hide the body peggy tried to clean up the crime.

This story so disturbed me beyond belief. I couldn't believe people can be so sick. I have to wonder what these people have done to their own son who was part of this crime while he was growing up. I am sure he has been raped and abused his whole life by these monsters and grew to be a monster himself.
I don't believe in the death penalty, but it appalls me that Peggy is escaping that fate by condeming her son and husband, particularly as she probably molested her son for many years before this crime. She also seems just as culpable in Christopher's death.

What a complete waste of human life. This "family" should be taken out and shot in the street. They do not deserve any rights especially since they all confessed and it has been proven they are guilty! Why pay for them to continue to live?

In my younger days, when I was in my 20's I didn't believe in death penalty either. I have had a change of mind over the years and it's due to heartbreaking cases exactly like Christopher's. Yes, it is appalling that Peggy is going to escape the DP, IMO, all three deserve it!:furious:
