"On December 27, 2015 at approximately 12:27 PM, Brookhaven Police Officers responded to 1322 Briarwood Road on a welfare check. Officers met with the caller and learned she has not been seen since December 24, 2015 at approximately 7:00 PM."

Snipped by me from the Brookhaven Police Department Facebook.

Thank you! I updated the map. I should see if there is another Kroger store closer to her house. That is a 24 minute walk.

I thought the bag was left outside the apartment....
let me review that again...

Maybe so. She could have had it outside with her, set it down to lock the door and forgot to pick it back up.

My mother had dementia. Poor sweet lady. She must have been so scared all alone wandering aimlessly. I wished this could have a happy ending but I fear it won't.

And I am saddened to hear your mom had dementia...
It is heartbreaking!

The video doesn't say, just that it was by the door...

I never understood what causes death when you have dementia. Now I do. My mother forgot how to eat and swallow.

"Area missionary missing."
"First Posted: 12:43 pm - December 31st, 2015 Updated: 12:09 pm - January 1st, 2016."

Short article.

She has been retired 12 years and her brother (Snipped by me) "still lives on the family farm in Morrow County, said he last spoke with her earlier this year."

I am very concerned for her. I wonder how progressed her Dementia was, if she was still able to find her way to church and home, I would think not too bad yet. (which worries me more). My Mom has Dementia, sadly she could not be trusted to walk anywhere and find her way back, not even an option. So, with the bag being found in the house, I am hoping there is no foul play involved. IMHO

http://www.11alive.com/story/news/l...h-woman-missing-since-christmas-eve/78302122/

Her roommate says she always takes the bag with her when she goes to the store or church. With the bag being in her apartment, that makes me think she did get home from the church Christmas Eve.
So she must have gone back out either later that night or Christmas Day morning as when somebody knocked on her door Christmas Day, there was no answer.
But where and why would she not take her bag?

Eta: if she went home after Krogers before going to church, she could have left the bags there and not taken it with her to church. That is a lot of walking but
she's obviously good on her feet as she's known for walking every where.
Bless her.

Just noticed there is a huge pool behind the back of her apartment block. I'm sure they will have checked there but pools always set off alarm bells with me when a person is missing.

Unfortunately, a lot of dementia patients will begin to walk outside at night. My m-I-l started to do that. We have an in ground pool and decided we probably should invest in a pool alarm, as she was once found sitting on the patio at 4am. They can seem to change overnight at times.

It is called "Sun-downing." When the sun goes down, people with dementia like to wander. That is one reason it can be so difficult to keep these loved ones at home.

It's so sad they haven't found this lady yet, it's now been 16 days.
Where on earth could she be? :(

I know! I keep coming back here thinking there will be news. It is almost easier to find people when they left in the car because they usually find the car abandoned and the missing nearby. Did LE scour a radius of her home? It sounded like they think she never got home because it was reported they were looking around the area of Apple Valley Road and Druid Hills Road which is just north of the church. Could someone have seen her heading north rather than south towards her apartment? Otherwise not sure why Apple Valley Road was mentioned.

If a friend was going to take her home from church and she disappeared so they couldn't, wouldn't that person have notified LE a head of the time she finally was recognized as missing?
Or did they not think anything of it? Maybe because she was used to walking?
And perhaps people were used to her walking as well?
Purely rumor then...
IMOO.
