GA GA - Janet Miller, 78, Brookhaven, 24 Dec 2015

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/crews-actively-searching-missing-brookhaven-elderl/npxtj/

At one minute 38 seconds the reporter says as the video shows the Kroger picture of her:

"But this is the last image captured of Miller taken from a nearby Kroger surveillance camera just hours before a church member snapped this photograph at the Christmas Eve service."
When the reporter mentioned this photo snapped at the Christmas Eve service, the video now shows a Missing Persons poster of Janet posted on a tree and she is wearing that floral outfit.

Thank you Treelights, I was getting worried about myself! I'd even just watched that video again and didn't pick up on it.

Maybe the church had a birthday cake to celebrate the birth of Jesus?

There is a photo of Janet with a large group of people in front of the church and the photo was posted on September 29, 2012. Janet has shorter hair, glasses, a cardigan over a top and a nice purse.
Since there are children in this photo from the church, I am unclear about posting a link to the photo. Perhaps it is permissible to post a link to their (church) facebook?

Here is the link to the church's facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/BrookhavenBaptist/info/?tab=overview

The facebook is for Brookhaven Baptist Church. Search photos from 2012.

She also seems to be wearing a belt around her waist. I have seen this in other photos as well.

My point is, she is holding in her hand a nice purse and granted this photo is from 2012, but if she is anything like me, I keep my purses for years.

How many purses does Janet have?

Is this purse missing from her residence?

Could she have taken this particular purse to the Christmas Eve services?

IMOO.

You have a sharp eye Treelights. I would never have realised, without prompting, that Janet was in that photo but yes, I see her. She's always smiling, I think she's genuinely a happy person.

I have been Googling the maps in street view of her route from Kroger's, the church, and then I got to thinking. Why did LE say they were searching Apple Valley when she lives the opposite way. Maybe she got turned around and started walking home the wrong way and someone thinks they saw her on Apple Valley. Unless she got in a car or public transportation, she has to be within a reasonable circumference of the church. She seemed pretty savy about at least asking for directions as the pastor said she would ask where the bible study room was. My fear is that she didn't make it through the night of Christmas Eve but where in the world could she be. Still wondering if she met foul play as surely she would have been found by now! This case really bothers me. She is so frail and vulnerable.

Unless LE chose Apple Valley to search to "eliminate" the area, and search surrounding areas to eliminate those areas too since they are in walking distance?

If she did make it home from church that night, I wonder what her plans were for Christmas morning?

I can't even vocalize how sad this case is to me...I can hardly read the thread. For some reason, this one is just heartbreaking and I don't even know the outcome...

I wonder if she could have left to go back to Ohio where she was born?
She still has some family there.
Or:
I know on one of the videos a man said that perhaps she wanted to go back to China at some point, so maybe she tried to get to the airport?

They're still describing the color of her dress as "unknown".

If the photo was taken at the Christmas event just before she vanished, the dress color is obviously known, is it not?

I kinda doubt she is in a hospital under a different name, like the last time she disappeared. Wouldn't they have tried to contact family members, and when unsuccessful, inform police?

I wonder what name she used before?
She was a missionary and lived all those years in China.
I wonder if she had a nickname that the people called her
when she lived in Hong Kong? Maybe this could be the name she used
previously?

I am wondering if it was the Chinese name for Janet. I know nothing about the Chinese language so just throwing that out there. Maybe she developed anxiety and further confusion since her young roommate left and she was alone for the holidays. Seriously...how far could she have gotten on foot without asking someone directions or something? Does anyone think foul play could be the cause of her disappearance?

Im not feeling that Plumeria. I think something similar to this case has happened.

He was only half a mile from his home yet it was 8 weeks before a dog walker found Andrew and his blue walking frame 50 feet in the woods, down a banking. There were no suspicious circumstances and there was no autopsy due to the advanced decomposition.

I so want someone to find Janet, preferably alive.

Edited to spell Plumerias name correctly, so sorry.

I'm still wondering if she got lost and somehow/somewhere locked in inside the church. On Google streetview I saw it's a two story building, many windows, and two side extensions. Might it have a basement, attic, etc?

I was thinking of that case too. This could very well have happened to Janet. Hopefully not though.

Yes, that huge church bothered me too, must be so many rooms and nooks and crannies to it over at least two floors, or was it three with the attic? Eta, four with the basement.
And, I'm still concerned about all those swimming pools around there. Do people keep them covered at all times? I'm not familiar with garden pools and what people do with them when not in use. They're not popular in the UK for obvious reasons.

Garden fish ponds are more our thing but they can cause just as many tragedies as pools with children if not fenced off or covered.
