Found Deceased GA - J'Asiah Mitchell, 2, DeKalb Co., 16 Aug 2023 *father arrested*

  • #81

"The group handed out flyers and talked to neighbors and even strangers to see if they know anything.

When 11Alive's Tresia Bowles talked to neighbors off camera, they told her they saw J'Asiah, a few weeks ago, roaming around alone in a diaper until someone came to pick him up.

We know very little about the moments before J'Asiah disappeared. He went missing Wednesday night. J'Asiah's father Artavious North, 23, was arrested after making false reports to police that he was robbed at gunpoint and the toddler was kidnapped. Police say that was all made up."

I just found out some of this baby’s relatives live in my town. The wife of one of my friends is his aunt somehow. I don’t know what side or any other details. I just saw them asking for prayers on Facebook, saying this was her nephew. So very sad.

Father named person of interest.
Also didn't want this precious baby to be on the second page <3
There are some people who don't deserve children.
Omo.

This precious child was only two years old.
Sounds like they found him ?

So sorry, little baby boy J'Asiah !

After reading here for so long usually perps will not give location of their missing victims for as time passes and decomposition happens it is harder to tell COD and then defense lawyers can spin any tale.
Finding them early can reveal what happened and insure a conviction. IMOO.

His father is awful. He either did something to this baby or was inattentive and let something happen to him and doesn't know where he is at.

The neighbors might as well kept their mouths closed just like they did when they noticed a bay outside alone. Now they talk for gossip's sake. They should have been dialing 911 or CPS.

Bolding mine.
ITA.

Makes no sense !
Why not at least go out to the child, and see who is supposed to be looking after him ?
Crazy.
Omo.

I miss the beat head against wall emoticon at times like this. How many more babies are we gonna see murdered by parents? It will never make sense. Never. How do you terminate such a beautiful gift as a child?

TIMELINE
Aug. 16: J’Asiah Mitchell disappears. Police initially reported that Mitchell’s father, 23-year-old Artavious North, kidnapped him at gunpoint on Wednesday around 11:23 p.m. in the 3300 block of Flat Shoals Road.
Aug. 17: DeKalb police said they determined there was no kidnapping. According to police, North reported that someone took J’Asiah from him as he was stopped at a stop sign. North was arrested and charged with making a false statement. He was already in jail on an unrelated crime at the time of his arrest.

Precious little one, relieved that his body has been found, his mother can lay her baby to rest properly, and know that justice is coming.

I'm so freaking angry. His maternal grandmother is in a local group that I belong to and she's been frantically searching and asking for help.
Crickets from the paternal side of the family, though.
Rest with the angels, sweet boy.

Ya know, I'm so sick of seeing these kind of cases, as I know everyone else is. I try so hard to give the benefit of the doubt (NOT INCLUDING THIS ONE). Yet here we read/talk/question again and again. I want nothing but the worst for those who do this to their babies. Praying for his mom and family and that justice will be swift. God Bless J'Asiah.

Omg… in the trash. What a life and world. So awful.

This is very familiar to a case in Virginia Beach with a father in custody, the little boy is still missing. Often times, family members avoid conflict by not acting on sign of neglect and abuse, I wish they would think more of protecting the children- I get it, no one ever thinks it’s possible for these type violent actions to occur in their family.

The garbage. No words.

Thank goodness he was found though. Poor sweetie and his innocent relatives.

Absolutely heartbreaking... and infuriating. I will never be able to understand how parents can do this to their sweet babies. I understand being frustrated, exhausted etc. I'm going to hell right now with my youngest, but I can't in a million years fathom how it ends like this.
