Is CrimeOnline a blog? It's not a media source. There was no "after dinner" (as refuted by Emma in interview), and other errors, make me think this is not an actual source, or something that should be given credibility. It also says this: "

I hope the perp will be identified by then. I know nothing can bring Katie and Bowie back but I want justice for them so desperately. Furthermore, based on the knowledge of the case so far, IMO, it seems highly likely that others are in potential danger as long as the person who committed this crime is walking around free.

Yeah there have already been other music festivals at Piedmont Park and a big art fair there since the murders. The park is being used almost as if nothing happened there. It's a very big park, so I don't think any of this is happening near the location.

Remember FOX Atlanta was also the media outlet that caused confusion in the witness count. I mentioned then and its worth reiterating, their coverage has been sloppy imho.

It's true that FOX Atlanta is one of the sloppiest media outlets we have here. They have published numerous things that were inaccurate about this case already and I expect them to continue that and I would take anything from them with a big grain of salt. Just a warning. 11Alive is better at facts, usually.

Three women (that we know of) attacked while walking their dogs in the Atlanta area the past month. Katie at night; two others during daylight hours (both escaped from the perp). One Pitt bull, other 2 breeds unknown. Apparently even a dog isn’t a deterrent these days. Please be safe and walk in groups whenever possible.

The relative silence from the Police and FBI is starting to make me believe that they have a suspect and are just building their evidence prior to an arrest. They don't need to public assistance at this point and don't think there is a real danger to the public since they are probably keep this person under 24/7 surveillance.

I hope you are right and they have a suspect under surveillance. The silence does seem like it should have some meaning. I’m surprised the public has not been updated.
The suspect in this case it’s obviously very dangerous. I wonder how long they would need to keep someone like this under surveillance.

This seems likely to me. It seems like they would be warning the public more, or asking the public for help, if they didn't have a person they were keeping an eye on and waiting for them to slip up or do something further. What kind of thing or action do you think LE is waiting for?

I absolutely hope this is the case!!! Do you think they have DNA evidence? Would matching DNA be enough evidence for a conviction? I think of Katie every day and hope they catch the person that did this to her. She seemed like such a wonderful peaceful loving person. It's so hard to understand why anyone would want to hurt another person.

In Orange County, Calif., recently, police investigating a stabbing found a trail of blood they believed was left by the assailant. Is it reasonable to assume that any dna results are in after a month? And that they have been compared to Law-enforcement databases?

Me too. It’s sinking in that it could be months before there is an update or arrest. My fear is that they don’t have a suspect, and the killer will be emboldened to strike again.

I think they would say something along the lines of 'we are aware of (reference the hypothetically similar crime) and we are investigating thoroughly. We continue to encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report anything or anyone suspicious.'
I'm not sure anything they say regarding this case or others that are or are not similar will particularly incite or calm the public, as anything short of arrests or statements like " there is no longer a threat to the public ". Jmo

60%-70% of homicide arrests are made within 1 month (same day being the highest % and a majority with 10 days)

DNA results should be back by now, if they have DNA linking the victim to a perpetrator why would they want to to surveil them at the risk of additional crimes?

It's interesting that we haven't had a follow-up on the person arrested from the Atlscoop video.

Also worth noting here has been a very notable uptick, especially in the Midtown and Buckhead areas of Atlanta, of mentally disturbed persons committing violent crimes.
