While these are disturbing, someone seems to know what they are talking about. She could have been into a lot more than you realize. I hope LE is looking into the gang claims and such. It does seem to fit with how she was abducted and the "money bag" they said Lonnie might have had on him. It could make it very difficult for them to get any public help in finding her, too.

In the meantime, you and everyone else searching for her need to be careful. They sound like they are quite a dangerous lot. Stay safe!

It really was torched, I am going to try to find it an post it, when I have time!

Still trying to get someone to donate $$ for billboard, and wish we could get some contributions to the reward fund. I am new at this part of things and am learning as I go, more difficult then I imagined....so far, no luck, but I'm not giving up!

I talked to mom last night, she has not been doing so well. This is really taking it's toll. She feels helpless as we all would. Mom has hooked with with advocates in PA and I will speaking w/them on Monday so that we can help on the GA side and they will help on the PA side...maybe now we can get something more accomplished.

The first thing we are going to dicusss is a billboard...we think we may be able to get the $$ from the state..that is what I am working on.

As far as the investigation, LE is not revealing anything, and that is understandable.

LTWH is in the process of registering with GBI and I am now working with the head of missing and UID here in GA, maybe she will be able to give us some ideas/assistance as to what to do now.

I am still nagging media to keep her face up here locally.

I have posted up on my forum how frustrated I am at lack of searching, however, I don't have a clue what they know, there may be no need, it's so HARD.

$$ talks, I wish we could get more towards the reward...I really think someone would talk for $$.

Thanks for the map. I am thinking that they dumped the car and burned it in a familiar neighborhood that wouldn't draw too much attention. If the perps didn't live in the Kirkwood area than they knew someone who did. This is a very transitional hood and there have been a rash of burglaries in the news. Burglaries and drugs go together. I think this was a pay back crime.

I believe they transported Monica by another vehicle to a remote dumping ground. Hwy. 78 (Stone Mountain Freeway) has a lot of rural space as you leave the metro area. It is also not as heavily traveled as I 85-75 where the perps have a risk of being stopped. Just my thoughts right now as to why she hasn't been found.

Did you ever get an explanation of why they called the guy a "victim" when he loaned the car out?

I still think the fiance/boyfriend has something or everything to do with this girl going missing.

Talked to mom tonight. She did more interviews with TV here in Atlanta..hopefully it will be on local news tonight, maybe a lead will come in.


The people I met via MySpace in Alabama who are experienced in searches have been trying for over a week and 1/2 to help us organize a search but they haven't been met with much cooperation.

I have been in contact with Pittsburgh advocates and they may have advice on a way for us to get help through state funding for billboard. Called the attorney, who has yet to return my calls, trying to get the # on the billboard by her exit. So I am trying to figure it out myself, I have a list of local BB companies and am checking them off trying to find which one owns this.

Just an update. Still praying hard everyday. The more time that goes by...well, no need, you know.

Imagine a call that your daughter has been found dead, not alive. That is what has been happening to the mother of an Atlanta woman missing since early July.

While the callers were just pranks, Linda Howard said it is still hard to hear when she knows her daughter was taken against her will.

The last time anyone heard from 34-year-old Monica Bowie was when she screamed loud enough for neighbors to investigate what was happening in their parking lot.

Bowie disappeared on July 5 and her mother said that media coverage has been decent at best. Questions surrounding her relationship with convicted felon Shernotta Walters seem at issue.

Vigil for Monica Bowie tonight

Monica Bowie disappeared from her home near Lenox Square mall two months ago today. Police believe she was kidnapped.
Tonight, her friends and family will hold a vigil for her at Hunter Hills Baptist Church, near where a car seen fleeing Bowie’s home on the night of her disappearance was found.

That is horrible! I can't believe someone would do that to Monica's poor mother! How could anyone be SO cruel?!

I am glad there is a vigil going on. At least, something is being done to keep up some hope for the family. I find it very odd they don't want any searches going on tho. Don't people realize when you have help...you need to accept it with open arms and be grateful? It is sad.
